What do you think is the advantage of overwriting?

seeing that lil wordcount go up and up baby!! nah, i'm just kidding.

in reality, i think the thing i love about writing really long fics is being truly immersed in the world. i love when a fic idea grabs you by the throat and draws you in and suddenly you're living and breathing it. i'd love to know your perspective on this too!

i keep saying that alta is going to be the longest thing i ever write, but if eurotrip ever sees the light of day i am a little worried it could potentially crack the 200k...tbc lol.

Okay, so this one isn't fully fleshed out, but...

After Alex/his overdose, TK decides he can't be in New York anymore, can't be around his parents, so he runs. And he just happens to run to Texas. But things aren't easy, and TK ends up living on the streets. That's where he runs into Officer Reyes for the first time.

My idea came from the Iris storyline. So it's kind of like her storyline in season 1, but with TK instead!

something that has made me really happy lately is Taskmaster, a British comedy panel show where 5 contestants (usually comedians but they've branched out since the earlier series) receive tasks they have to complete and receive scores based on how they do. All episodes are up on YouTube via the Taskmaster channel, and I highly recommend it!

over the past couple weeks, I rewatched all 15 series, and I'm still watching episodes! it's something that I always go back to that brings me joy. I started watching the show during the pandemic I think. I had been watching other British panel shows for awhile and had seen Taskmaster in my recommended but didn't start watching it until my brother showed me an episode from series 4. then we watched from the start together! my favorite series are probably 4, 5, and 14.

series 16 started last week and I'm so excited about it! there's one part I want to talk about in particular from the first episode that made me laugh so much! under the cut in case anyone wants to avoid spoilers!

Henry watched in silence as Alex stood in a circle with several of the influential youth of Britain. He could name on one hand, the ones that he had never talked to before in some form or fashion and nearly all had some long title that had been ingrained into him since childhood. They had been his people growing up but how they were looking at Alex made his grip on his champagne flute tighten and his jaw set despite himself.

He walked over and Alex looked up with a bright smile and excused himself. “Hey, I thought you were going to get me some of those little bread thingys. I love those things.”

“All out.” He said tensely and Alex frowned.

“You okay?”

“Perfectly splendid.” He said, letting his voice relax but his body kept all its tension. Alex looked back at the group that had circled in to fill his space and then looked back at Henry with a giant knowing smile on his face.

“Wait a minute. Are you jealous?” Alex laughed and shook his head. “Holy shit, you are so jealous right now!”

“No, I am not, thank you very much.” Henry took a large gulp of his champagne.

“None of them hold a candle to you baby.” Alex said in a lower voice, the huskiness curling around his ear as the man sidled in closer. “You’re it.”

Henry cleared his throat and raised his chin. Alex let out a laugh and leaned up to kiss him on the cheek.

“Still, very hot of you to get jealous of those neanderthals. Shall we go make fun of other royal guests?” Alex asked, looping his arm through Henry’s. 

“Lead the way.” Henry said and Alex did just that.

canon: there's soooo many!! every alex x henry moment is iconic BUT my fave is when henry played "your song" for alex. it’s one of my favorite love songs ever and this moment was SO romantic and the piano and alex's Oh. IN ITALICS and that’s when he realized he was falling in love and i screamed and good god i need to sit down

headcanon: alex has big proposal in motion, but his plans change one morning (a week before he was going to propose). that morning he wakes up before henry, in their apartment, in their bedroom and he just looks at his boyfriend, soon-to-be fiancé, soon-to-be husband and thinks how lucky he is and how happy he is and then he sees that henry’s eyes are open and he sees his sleepy smile and hears “morning, love” in this hoarse sexy voice and just because henry’s sleepy face is alex’s favorite thing in the world and because he loves him so much he might explode and because he can’t wait any longer he says, big proposal be damned, “will you marry me?”. henry’s eyes go wide and he looks speechless and alex goes “i had this big proposal coming, but you and your beautiful morning face ruined it. i just couldn’t help myself! henry, i can’t wait any longer because you’re the one and i love you so so much, more than anything and i want you forever. and i promise i have a ring, hidden in one of my drawers, i will give it to you in one second but i need to hear your answer. i mean, obviously you will get this ring only if you say yes and if you don’t sa-” and then he feels henry’s soft lips on his and the world is beautiful and he knows henry’s answer already but when they move apart and henry whispers “yes” against his lips his heart goes so wild and eyes are full of tears and he can’t wait to spend the rest of his life with this amazing man
