“High. The threat level is high. And it’s because it’s got the same output-boosting trick as that freaky shotgun the Warmind designed.”

“Fascinating. Of course convergent design is hardly uncommon, especially in advanced ballistics, but that particular technology is quite difficult to achieve. You can bet the foundries tried, and haven’t had much luck.”

“Could the Black Armory have some kind of AI doing design?”

“Perhaps. Ada-1 makes for lovely company, but she hasn’t exactly been forthcoming with details about the workings of her operation. I really couldn’t guess whether she designs things herself, or merely inherited the specifications for the Armory’s products—excuse me, wares.
