Whatever he was---He was weird. Nil knew that. Hell- he'd even known he'd been weird in his past life, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to exist like this at all. But tonight was an extra.. dose of weird. It was because Flynn had just gone back after their first... real night together, after a handful of perfect, warm days. It wasn't that the space around him felt a little emptier. Not just that at least. No, the air just felt.. thick. Heavy with something. And he was maybe, kinda, almost close to figuring out what it was, till the booming voice of Kallie's little guard dog jumbled his thoughts again.
Nil! Nil!...Fuck, Nil! Help me!
....That... Didn't sound right. Didn't feel normal. It was different from the haughty, eternally annoyed and annoying and kinda funny way the hound addressed him. Still though.. Things where.. off. Maybe he was just imagining things.
"Jeeesus, what's the big d--" Nil managed a roll of his eyes as he opened the door, only for the stench of burned flesh and burning blood to clash against his senses. Only for the colour to drain from his face at the sight. Kal, in Fang's arms. Chest blown open, embers still... somehow burning more and more of him away. And the hound in question lay, barely quivering in Fang's arms, breaths wet, weak and stuttered, eyes nearly closed and fluttering--
"K-..Kal.. Kallie?!" The name boomed from parted lips in an almost shrill shout as the demon rushed to Kal and Fang, dread and confusion suddenly filling every sense he had before he was tugging the other into his chambers. "I-inside. Now. S-set him on the table.. Fuck.. What the fuck happened?!"
