She had wanted to keep it a secret in case it wasnât true, in case her bleeding was just a bit late. She had been throwing up recently and thought she had just been sick, there seemed to be a little stomach bug going around the castle and she had only chalked it up to that. But then she missed her bleeding and it mad her wonder if she was overthinking things, so she simply didnât mention it to Kit. But now she was completely sure.Â
She was sitting down by a fire in their bed chambers with a book in her lap, feet pulled up underneath of her. She had told Kit she wanted to talk to him about something when he finished with some official business he had to take care of, and she found herself wondering how he would react. Would he be as excited as she was? She wished she could ask her mother if this was how she felt when she was pregnant, and she wished she could meet Kit. She looked up from her book to look at the fire beside her and sighed contently, a small smile on her face as she wondered if there was a little prince or princess inside of her now. She hoped he would be so happy...

"I am all yours." Lucifer kissed her again, hands resting on her lower back. He was surprised she was taking this all so well, and he was just waiting for it to really hit her.
INVOLVED: Mia Parker, Farrah Parker, James Parker Sir, James Parker Jr., and Tyler CarterÂ
TIME FRAME: â
LOCATION: Parker Family Home; Houston, Texas
SUMMARY: Mia takes Tyler to her parents house to discuss her engagement and things go left.
Mia looked to Tyler as they approached her family home, she had told her mother that she was going to bring him to her home. She had told her mother that she was engaged, that she was living with Tyler now and she knew all these things bothered her. Especially considering that she hadnât called her back, hopefully, her mother didnât tell her father or brother and allowed her to do so. Even if she did, maybe this all would play out all right for the both of them. They needed to understand that Tyler and she both loved each other, he was her heart, and nothing could ever change that including their opinion and feelings. âBaby?â she breathed softly to him quietly as she grabbed his hand in hers and laced their fingers âhow do you feel?â she asked him softly.
Tyler pulled up to Miaâs family home and he placed the car in park, gazing over at her as she spoke, taking his hand. He chuckled softly, squeezing her hand. âIâm good,â he told her honestly. âHow are you?â He asked. âYouâve been shitting bricks since this morning,â he said with a shake of his head as he leaned over, pressing a tender kiss to her forehead.
âI donât know, I am a bit nervousâ Mia told him quietly as she squeezed her hand in his. âHonestly, I said some things that maybe I should not have to my mother, out of sheer passion,â she admitted. âI donât want them to hate you Tylerâ she confessed, âI want them to understand that we are adults and that we can make our own decisions,â she breathed. âI didnât sleep well last night, and I feel like crap. This is making me a nauseous wreckâ she told him as he pecked her forehead.
Tyler listened to Mia, nodding slowly. His mouth formed a small âoâ as she explained that she had spoken to her mother. âUh-oh,â he said gently, a little tickled by the fact that Mia got a little backbone to her. He wouldn't really dare talk back to his mother. âThey will,â Tyler said sweetly. âTheyâll understand once they see us together,â he told her gently. âYou gotta be positive,â he said kissing her forehead once more. âI felt you tossing and turning all night,â he admitted. âJust relax. Itâll be okay,â he told her squeezing her hand once more before he pulled the key from the ignition and slid out of the car. He quickly jogged around and opened Miaâs door, helping her out.
Mia nodded her head at him as he reassured her that everything will be fine with this visit. âOkay, you are rightâ she told him âitâll be fineâ she said convincing herself that it will be. As he moved to get out the car he smiled gently, she unfastened herself and grabbed her bag as Tyler opened her door. âThanks babyâ she said as she climbed out of his car and she looked to her parentsâ house.
Closing the door behind Mia, Tyler hit the lock on his remote, slipping it into his pocket. Moving up the walkway with Mia, he slipped his arm around her, his large hand on her hip as he pulled her close. He pressed a kiss to her hair, as they stood before the front door and he looked at her with a nod before he rang the doorbell.
Mia walked alongside Tyler as they made way for the front door of the home, as he pressed the doorbell, she looked up at him as he nodded his head. She leaned against him for a moment before she leaned upright waiting.
Miaâs brother was the first to hear the doorbell when it rang, and he jumped to get the door. JJ peered out of the window on the side of the door and saw his sister and some tall light skin man. âOh lordâ he breathed to himself his sister had gone out and got this big dude that heâd have to grill for dear life about her heart. Dang Me-Me, he thought as he unlocked the door and looked to her. âSisâ he cheered, he hadnât seen her in a while and he missed her, looking to her hand his eyes grew âdang Mia!â he exclaimed taking her large ring in.
Hearing the door, Farrah looked to her husband who was sitting in the kitchen before she heard her son moving for the door. Drying her hands clean with a towel she set it aside before she moved towards the front door behind her son, taking the couple in she looked down at the boy. âJamesâ she breathed as she grabbed him by his shoulder and moved his aside âhey guys, come inâ she breathed to them both as she moved aside to let them.
Mia looked to her little brother and she smiled brightly âJJ!â she exclaimed as she hugged him close to her chest. His comment made her snort, chuckling at him dearly âhush youâ she said trying to take the attention off of her engagement for right now. As her mother spoke she looked to her, offering her a small smile as she nodded âhey momâ she said leaning into the woman awkwardly and hugging her to her side.
Tyler stood there with Mia until the door opened and he looked at the boy and smiled, letting Mia go so that she could hug her brother. âHey Man,â Tyler said as they pulled away before his eyes moved to Miaâs ring as well and he smirked. Lifting his eyes once more, he looked to Miaâs mother and he smiled. âHi Mrs. Parker,â he beamed, holding out his hand to her as he towered over everyone.
JJ looked to Tyler and he nodded his head at the man âwhatâs up broâ he said squaring his shoulders and standing tall though he didnât quite match his height just yet, but he was getting there, thanks to his father. âMaâ he said slyly as the woman moved his aside, why couldnât he gawk over his sisterâs huge rock. âMia ring âbout the size of yours maâ he exclaimed loudly to her.
Farrah looked to her son with eyes that spoke of him meeting and untimely demise if he didnât be quiet. She looked to her daughter and hugged her back âhi babyâ she breathed before she let her go. She looked to Tyler and said âhello to him, Iâd greet you with your name, but I donât quite recall it love. You are?â she asked him receiving his hand in hers.
James moved out of the kitchen finally, no more hiding that was his baby girl after all. He walked out moving towards the front door and he stuck his hands in his pockets âbaby girl, long time no seeâ he said to her as he looked to his son and then to Tyler. âWhatâs upâ he said nodding his head towards Tyler.
Tyler looked to Miaâs little brother, JJ, and he nodded back at him. ââSup, man,â he said with a smirk, amused that the young boy was trying to size him up. He looked to Miaâs ring once more, feeling pride swell in his chest. âI did what I could,â he said with a small modest shrug. Turning his eyes back to Mrs. Parker, he bit back a chuckle. âTyler, maâam. My name is Tyler Carter,â he told her easily, tenderly taking her hand as she offered it and he gave her a strong but gentle shake. As Miaâs father approached, he looked at the slightly taller man in his eyes. âSir,â he said with a respectful nod. âPleasure to see you again. Iâm Tyler Carter.â He held his hand out to the man.
Mia looked back at Tyler with a chuckle looking to her younger brother before she looked to her mom. âMomâ she said knowingly as she looked to her in shock, as if the woman didnât meet the boy already, she toyed with them both. She looked to her dad and said âhey daddyâ moving to hug him tightly.
JJ looked Tyler over again âso you my sister man huh?â her asked him next.
Farrah looked to Tyler and she nodded her head at him ânice meeting you officiallyâ she said to him politely. Farrah closed her door behind them, locking it before she moved further into the house. âI prepared dinner; I knew you guys were comingâ she said resting her hands on her full hips. âWe can go⌠do thatâ she said pointing to the dining room area.
James nodded his head âlikewiseâ he said looking to his wife and then to Mia, he hugged the girl back gently and kissed her cheek. âFoodâ he said ânow thatâs up my alleyâ he said pulling Mia with him as he moved towards their dining room where his wife had set up a deliciously smelling meal.
Tylerâs attention moved back to JJ and he nodded. âThat would be correct,â he said easily, his dimples creasing inward as he smiled. Looking to Farrah, Tyler nodded. âLikewise,â he replied to her nodding as he stepped further into the house, getting out of the doorway. âMmm,â he said at the thought of food, his stomach growling lightly. Slipping his hands into his pockets, he remembered the necklace he had brought as a gift for Farrah. âOh, Mrs. Parker,â he said as he pulled out the small blue Tiffany and Co. box. âI got this for you,â he said as he held the box out towards her.
JJ looked to Tyler and he nodded his head up and down slowly before he said âhmâ moving behind his father.
Mia walked with her father looking back at Tyler shooting him a look, so far so good in her opinion. She didnât know how much her father knew but the man was being cool and so was her mother.
At Tylerâs words Farrah stopped mid stride and she looked to the boy âa gift for me?â she questioned as she grabbed the box from the boy. âYou shouldnât haveâ she said in her baby soft voice a smile spreading across her face. âThanksâ she offered. âIs this a bribe?â she said to Mia in creole as she moved towards the dining room. âFollow meâ she told Tyler, âif anyone needs to wash their hands the bathroom is down the hallâ she called out.
Tyler smiled at Farrah. âFor you,â he said easily. âYouâre welcome,â he told her with another smile. As the woman spoke another language, his eyebrows rose to his hairline as he looked to Mia curiously. Licking his lips, he did as instructed, moving behind Farrah, his eyes rolling over her figure absentmindedly. Clearly Mia got it from her mother because, DAMN. âIâll be right back,â Tyler said quickly as she said where the bathroom was and he looked to Mia, his eyes looking down the hallway for approval.
At her motherâs words Mia snorted a little âno mother it isnât, heâs genuinely like that⌠I told youâ Mia replied back to the woman easily in creole. âOh, one secondâ she said sitting her purse in her seat at the table as she pulled away from her father moving with Tyler towards the bathroom. âHereâ she said grabbing his hand âitâs down here,â she said. âShe made her famous fried chicken Tylerâ she told him with a smirk âyou gotta eat it like you love it or youâd break her heartâ she joked.
James moved to sit down, having already washed his hands before hand. He was ready to grub, he cared less about meeting the boy in his mind if Mia brought a guy around, he was already good enough. Yes, in the past he was worried that sheâd be jumping into something that had a rocky foundation and horrible bases but here they were.
JJ moved to sit down at the table, and he looked to the food âoh this a special occasion huh?â he said aloud. âIâm âbout to buss downâ he exclaimed.
Farrah watched as the couple moved down the hall to wash their hands and she grabbed a glass pitcher of some sweet tea she made before she set it on the table. âBoy hush talking all that nonsenseâ she instructed to her son. âI donât know why you donât speak in a manner of which reflects the school we send you to everyday, act like you have some sense Jamesâ she told him as she looked to her husband as she sat down beside him. âBust down?â she repeated âthat doesnât even make sense,â she stressed, confused.
Tyler licked his lips as Mia told him what her mother made for lunch and he smirked. âOh, I promise you I wonât have to pretend, if she cooks anything like you do,â he said honestly as Mia tugged him towards the bathroom. As they entered, he pumped some soap into his hands before he turned the water on, getting his hands a little wet before he rubbed them together, lathering them up. He rinsed them off, reaching for a paper towel to dry them. He did so quickly before dropping the towel into the trashcan and he looked to Mia. âTold you everything would be okay,â he said playfully.
Mia looked to Tyler and chuckled âthat is where I learned it fromâ she told him with a smile. As they both used the sink to wash their hands her nerves settled far more before she moved to dry her hands off âyeah you were right babyâ she told him as tossed the napkin away. She looked to her hand adjusting her ring idly and she said âgive me a kissâ puckering up her lips to him.
Leaning in, Tyler kissed Miaâs lips sweetly. âI love you baby girl,â he said sweetly before he asked, âready to go back out there?â
âI love you moreâ Mia said to him happily, looking at him with admiration in her eyes. âYeahâ she said biting her lip as she moved out of the bathroom and back down the hall. Resurfacing Mia sat down where her purse was and looked to Tyler patting the seat next to her.
As Mia and Tyler returned James looked to them and said âalrightâ easily âtime to pray and eatâ he told them. As the man lowered his head, he said a quick prayer over their food and over the person that made it before he said âamenâ he looked up moving to fix his plate. âSo, Tyler, howâs that pharmacy degree coming along?â he asked him as she licked his lips.
Farrah watched Mia and she looked to her husband nodding her head at him before she lowered her head and she bit her lip, saying Amen with the man before she moved to assist in making his plate.
JJ sighed, putting his head down though his eyes were not closed, and he said âAmenâ as well before he piled four pieces of chicken on his plate.
Smiling, Tyler nodded as he moved behind Mia sitting down beside her at the table. As her father prayed, he bowed his head out of respect. âAmen,â he mumbled before lifting his head. Looking to James, Tyler tilted his head to the side. âOh, Iâm an art major,â he explained. âI work part-time with the pharmacy but Iâm not studying to be one,â he told her father easily. âI work alongside the main pharmacist, learning the ropes and things or at the front desk. I mainly work with the pharmacist to be able to help people if heâs not around or something.â
Mia looked to her father and then to Tyler, she still had to ask him why he was lying to her father like this and without much thought. It was crazy. She grabbed Tylerâs plate and begin to fix it for him, as she thought a good wife should considering her motherâs influence. As she was done, she sat it before him and began to fix her plate.
James looked to the boy as his wife fixed his plate and he thanked her quietly before he began to eat. âOh, my badâ the guy said to him âso artâ he said, âwhat you gonna do with that?â he asked him as he stuck some food into his mouth.
Farrah fixed her own plate, not making much food and she stuck her fork into her mouth. She looked to the boy and then to her husband as they spoke just listening to them back and forth.
Tyler watched as Mia made his plate and he looked at her gratefully, though she didnât have to do it. As she set the plate before him, he picked up a piece of chicken and bit into it, a small hum of appreciation passing his lips. âItâs good,â he said to Farrah before he looked to James. âWell, I am selling pieces off and I make customs,â he admitted. âIâve sold some of my pieces to galleries in LA and New York,â he explained. âI draw and do graffiti art,â he said; he painted too but no one really knew that part. He kept his paintings close to his heart. It was his most loved medium. âIâm also pretty good with graphic arts and mosaics,â he told her parents.
James nodded his head at the boy, he didnât know you could really provide for an actual family with a few sketches but maybe you could. âOkayâ he said nodding his head at the boy as he continued to eat hungrily. âSo how did you two meet, just on campus?â he asked them both.
Mia looked to Tyler and her father as she continued to eat her food quietly. âHeâs good too dadâ she confirmed âyou should see some of his workâ she acknowledged.
JJ looked to Tyler and he raised his brow âart?â he said confused ânigga you finger painting?â he said out of his mouth as he bit into another piece of chicken.
Farrah broke off a piece of chicken and ate it quietly as he looked to James for a second. When Mia replied she nodded her head curious to see his work now, at her son words she looked at him quickly, âJames Alexander Parker, donât you ever use the language in my house again. Tyler is a young man, donât refer to him as a nigga? Are you crazy?â she asked as she looked to her husband disgustedly.
Tyler ate more of his chicken hungrily before he moved for the greens, eating them with his fork as he nodded at her father, glancing at him with a smirk. âI mean, I try,â he said modestly. âIâm just glad people like my work enough to support me,â he admitted before looked at JJ, chuckling at the boy. He was clearly trying to overcompensate, and Tyler found it to be quite amusing; especially as Farrah began to scold him. His attention shifted back to James and he nodded. âWeâve known each other since freshman year,â he admitted. âWe met through mutual friends,â he explained, looking at Mia with a smile.
Mia looked to her brother with wide eyes âJJ stop itâ she said through clenched teeth. The kid was shy, laidback, and soft spoken any other day. Who did he think he was today? At her dadâs question she looked and Tyler and then back at him âyeah, you know Tyler is Aaronâs closest friend and Iâm Novaâsâ she said shrugging âwe have kind of always been around each other and became friends ourselvesâ she told him looking to Tyler with a smirk.
James looked over to his son slowly, he understood that he was supposed to act as his sisterâs protector but right now he looked like a damn fool. Looking to his wife, he looked back to their son and said âboy shut up and eatâ scolding him before he looked back to Tyler shaking his head. âForgive himâ he said âhe has old ass parents that he took by surpriseâ he said looking back to James.
Farrah continued to nibble on her food, looking to JJ again with a head shake before she looked to her husband. âJamesâ she said reading between his implied lines and she said âdonât say thatâ with a smirk. âAnd on the contrary I am not old, speak for yourself dearâ she mused.
Tyler looked at Mia as she too scolded her brother and he continued to eat his food, trying not to laugh too hard at the kid. Shaking his head, he looked between James and Farrah before he said, âitâs perfectly fine,â still biting back a laugh. His eyes sparkled with amusement as he gazed at her family before, he said to James, following up with the conversation at hand, âyeah it honestly was only a matter of time before we ended up together.â Eating more of his food, he added, âI had been crushing on Mia since freshman year and now sheâs about to be my wife,â he said satisfactory. âIâm the happiest man alive,â he said with a smile, beaming at Mia before he looked back to her father.
James smirked at his wife, offering her a wink at her words and he scooped some greens into his mouth eating. He listened to the boy taking a chunk out of his cornbread and he stopped chewing lighting his head slowly moved as he looked to Tyler and then his daughter. He sat his cornbread down and swallowed âhuh?â he asked them, as he looked to her hand seeing the ring that his son had spoken of and he sat back in his chair. âWife?â
Farrah forked a little potato salad into her mouth and at Tyler words she looked to him sitting upright. She looked to her husband with eyes that pleaded with him not to jump off the deep end about this. She rested her hand against his on the table and held it in hers as she looked to Mia again.
JJ looked to his parents and ate without saying a word before he looked to Tyler with large eyes. Oh shit, he thought his sister was in some deep shit now.
As Tyler carried on Mia smirked happily to herself, still chomping on chicken until she heard Tylerâs last word and she looked to him slowly. She blinked slowly before she swallowed her mouth full, then she looked to her father. Wiping her mouth, she said âdadâ trying to coach him to not go overboard. âThatâs kind of what we came here to talk to you about. Tyler proposed a few days ago and I acceptedâ she breathed before she looked back at Tyler.
Tyler looked around at all the shocked faces and his smile dropped. He thought Mia had told them. Slowly he turned his head to Mia, gazing at her with apologetic eyes before he looked back to her father, sitting back slowly. Well this is awkward, he thought to himself. âMr. Parker,â he began tentatively. âI apologize for not asking for your permission,â he said, âit was pretty spontaneous,â he admitted gently, his shoulders rising to his ears.
James looked to Farrah and asked âyou knew about this? And didnât say anything to me?â seriously. âMia you arenât ready for marriage, you donât know the first thing it takes. Marriage is seriousâ he said to her. âAnd, all I know about Tyler is that his last name is Carter, that he is an art major, that he goes to your school, that he bought you a car, picked you up from my damn house, and that he does some pharmacy crap at yâall school. Come on man, this doesnât make any senseâ he told her. âWhere is your head chica?â he said gazing at her. âWe send you to school to get an education Mia. We are pulling money from everywhere we can to do this now, and this is what youâd rather be doing?â he asked her seriously. âThis cat didnât even have the balls enough to come in my house and ask me can he do this, come on now manâŚ.â he waved off agitatedly.
Farrah lowered her head for a moment before she looked to her husband and said âyes, but I was still processing it myself Jamesâ she said with reason. âMia and I spoke on the phone and it were brief,â she admitted. As her husband ranted, she looked over at her young son, wishing this played out a little better than this. At her husbandâs lasting words, she looked at him again.
JJ looked to his dad, then to his mother, before he looked at Tyler and Mia drinking some of his sweet tea.
Mia looked to her father as he went back and forth with her mother, Mia sat her fork down figuring there was going to be nothing more but back and forth bantering now. âDad I know it wonât be easy and I know itâs hard work. I am not a child. I am not dumbâ she said back to him. âHear us out first pleaseâ she said trying to reason with him. As he went on to explain where he stood with Tyler, she sighed heavily to herself looking to the wall behind her brother before she looked to her father again. âMy head is on all the things it was on before I left here, that has nothing to do with Tyler having my heart,â she said. âAnd I am getting the degree, father I am sitting at a 3.7 GPAâ she stressed âI have not once taken your sacrifices for granted. Tyler and our relationship is not stopping me from getting a degree and graduating, do you hear yourself right now?â she asked pointing to her ear.
Tyler felt bad, his ears turning red slightly from embarrassment. He hadnât meant to make this a big deal for Mia and her family. However, as her father began talking and speaking out of his ass, he shifted in his seat. His jaw set as he rolled it slowly. James was being extremely disrespectful, and he didnât like it one bit. He was biting his tongue to keep from lashing out at the man and disrespecting Mia, but if the man said anything else, it was going to be a problem. His face turned bright red with irritation as he stared the man right into his eyes, looking into James soul at this point. Boy, if looks could kill, James would be a dead man. âI think we just need to take a minute and think about what we say before we say it,â he said still looking right at James. âDonât want to say some things weâll regret,â he said rolling his jaw once more.
James looked to Mia and he smacked his teeth at the girlâs response, âyou donât think you are jumping into any of this to quick Mia?â he asked looking to her before his eyes moved to Tyler and they glared at each other. Having a battle between each other quietly through looks and glares.
Farrah looked to Mia, she wanted to be both proud and upset but she couldnât pick both or between the two. She understood her husbandâs point of view and she could understand her daughters as well. Mia had just popped up with some man and now there were so many things stemming from the link that just made no sense really. Plus, they didnât not know him, they only met him once each.
Tyler continued to glare at James, and he rolled his tongue over his teeth. âNo, we donât think anything is moving too fast,â he said answering for Mia. âWeâve known each other for years and despite whatever you might think, we truly love each other. Marriage is just the next step in our connection,â he said with a tilt of his head. âAnd as far as money goes, you guys can keep it. I take care of Mia now. Anything she wants, I got it. Weâre good. As a husband Iâm going to provide anything and everything for my wife,â he said looking at Farrah now, then back at James. âSo, no worries there, Mia and I are both going to finish school and being married has absolutely nothing to do with that, you have got to be ignorant to think that it would,â he said with a slight chuckle. âBelieve it or not, our generation really can do it all,â he said with a slight crack of his neck before he smirked.
Mia prepared to speak for herself, but Tyler interjected quickly to give his spill on how he felt, and Mia moved her hand to his knee, she gripped it tightly in her small hand before she ran it up his leg. She needed him to calm down a bit, this didnât have to be this way. They could all come together on this, and she needed them to understand that. âDaddy please listen to me; I understand that you and mother both are unsettled by this because it does seem a little sudden for you all. But dad, excuse me for having to put this here, you were married several times before mother. You had to go through some things before you found your one. I get thatâ she said her hand hitting the table. âI get that, itâs not easy. I get that it takes work. I even get the fact that right now in our society that most people donât endure it, but you know meâ she said pointing to herself. âYou know that I wouldnât bring a man into my life or around you guys that I didnât think I could see myself with forever, that I didnât see as a husbandâ she told him. âIt was spontaneous, but that is Tyler and Iâ she shrugged. âWe have the World in the palm of our hands, and we have our entire life ahead of us. Even if this isnât what I dream it to be, daddy people have to make some mistakes and they have to grow, and they have to evolve. That is just lifeâ she said.
Farrah looked to Tyler as he spoke, she looked to her husband before she dropped her hand to his leg, gripping it gently. âNo one is denying what you all are capable of. Mia is smart, we know that of her. We know sheâs capable of enduring a lot of things people arenâtâ she said to Tyler. âWe as her parents do not want to see her hurt, that is my husbandâs entire pointâ she said to him. âWe know her, forgive me for having to reiterate the fact that I birthed herâ she said as she looked to Mia âmy baby isnât like most girls you are probably accustomed to. She is sensitiveâ she said factually âshe is more a lover than she is a fighterâ she added âand she has not been exposed to a lot of things considering we just didnât allow it to happen or we didnât find it healthy for usâ she said. âSo, forgive us for trying to cover all bases here, but sheâs ours. No matter what last name she carries ...â
James looked to Tyler and his eyes darkened as the boy continued to talk, essentially pushing buttons he didnât know were there. As his wife began to speak for them both, he looked to her for a second before he looked back to Mia, he stared at her for a second. His eyes rolled back to Tyler and he licked his lips slowly âyeah all of that is niceâ he said dismissing his wife âget the fuck out my houseâ he said pointing to Tyler. âRegretful words are the last thing on my mind, the suburbs didnât raise me, I wonât tolerate no-fucking-body disrespecting me in my own houseâ he said as he slowly stood up to his full fight.
Tyler looked at Mia as she gripped his knee, rubbing his leg and he clenched his jaw slightly as he tried to relax for her sake. Looking to Farrah, Tyler squinted at her. âYou donât know anything about me and youâre passing judgement, what about my feelings? What if Mia hurts me?â he questioned Farrah back fervently. Tilting his head slightly, he placed his hand over Miaâs giving it a squeeze as he released a harsh breath. His eyes traveled to James and he licked his lips slowly, this man didnât know who he was fucking with. He rose with James, squaring up with the man. âBut youâre fine with disrespecting your own child?â he said lowly, glaring at James. âJust as I thought, trash,â Tyler said sneering at the man before he slowly moved his eyes to Farrah, then Mia. He was seething. Had this been anyone else, Tyler would have already pulled out his piece, but he knew it couldnât for the sake of his relationship. âMia,â he growled out carefully as his eyes tore away from James to gaze at her apologetically. âI am sorry,â he said genuinely. âIâll be out in the car until youâre ready to leave,â he told her honestly, rolling his jaw once more before he leaned down, pressing a tender kiss to her forehead before he stormed out of the house angrily.
Mia looked to her mother as she spoke and she got it, everyone wanted to make sure Mia was provided for in this situation. And they could have, if they all just calmed down and listened to one another. As her father's lips parted, she looked to him, eyebrows raising before she looked to Tyler as he flew off the handle and she looked up at him eyes wide. As he removed himself from the table she looked to her parents before she moved to stand up slowly âthank you for dinnerâ she told her mother before she looked to her little brother. Mia grabbed her purse and stood up from the table, figuring it was time for her to go. Her hands were tied at the end of the day and she really wasnât choosing here, she lived with Tyler, so she had to go home even if it looked as if she was leaving with him.
âMiaâ JJ said as she stood up to leave âyou are just going to go?â he asked her shocked, didnât his sister care? What about him in all of this, he didnât get to see her much and they were still a family after all was said and done.
Mia looked to her brother sympathetically, an apologetic look graced her face as she stepped out of the dining room. She didnât know what to say, she was torn as she moved for the front door sadly closing it behind herself. She wiped her tear quickly, not wanting Tyler to see her as she moved for his car where he was residing.
James looked to Mia, âsheâs made her choice,â she told the young boy as he called out for his sister. James lowered himself in his seat again as he grabbed his fork and began to finish his meal peacefully as he desired.
Farrah looked to her husband and then to Tyler, things had gotten out of hand very quickly and as Mia moved to leave, she dropped her head slightly. She could only hope that all of this was worth it, as she looked to her son. James spoke again before sitting down, Farrah got up from the table slowly, collecting plates as she did. She didnât have much of an appetite and she honestly didnât feel like anything would stem from this but more hurt and pain, they shouldâve been able to discuss this like adults.
Chris has decided that he wants to surprise Cherry, following the rough week she has been having at work. So he has got a meal ready and a nice and romantic evening planned for just the two of them.
Being away from university and work meant that Chris had a lot of time to himself. He'd spent a good deal with his family, as well as his bro, but not as much with his girlfriend as he would have liked. Unfortunately, she was still working. She was busy working hard and it was tiring to see how run down she was getting throughout the week. With the full moon recently over, the werewolf support services were busy, and she had been working longer hours to compensate. And so, now that the week was coming to a close, Chris decided that he was going to do something about it.
Enlisting Mike's help with cooking, because he didn't trust himself to get it all right and not mess up one thing about it, they'd prepared a lovely meal for Chris and Cherry to enjoy. He'd got some flowers for her, some candles lit, and some nice music in the background. Chris was even going to run her a lovely bath later, complete with a book for her to read and some soothing music. He'd also get her a glass of wine or a tea, depending on her mood.
He'd dressed in a shirt that she loved, and when his phone pinged to tell him that she'd be heading home soon he'd said goodbye to Mike, thanking him for his help. He was sure he'd have had a few meltdowns without his bro there to assist, and he felt excited about surprising Cherry, especially in their new home. He picked up the flowers when he heard a key in the front door, smile on his face as he waited for the woman he loved to step inside.
After everything, the whole Ascendence Day thing, and readjusting to life in Caeltera, Morwen had grown somewhat restless. As a result, one evening, after bathing, she invited Emmett to her room. "I can't thank you enough for helping out after we got out of the hospital, and helping me adjust, and all that. So... I want to repay you. Please... Close your eyes."
The request to come to her room was anxiety-inducing on its own - Emmett had been hoping for a quiet evening with his books, some time to himself after dinner. But it was only polite, he supposed. Still, when she asked him to close his eyes, that nervousness peaked again. Surprises werenât exactly something he was fond of.
â...Oh... I, um... it was r-really nothing...â He smiled nervously. âD-donât worry about it, really, it was... it was only neighborly to do so...â Still, he obliged, squeezing his eyes shut and resisting the urge to peek.

Alright, so she could have timed this better. Like, a lot better. She'd been hoping her parents had done more than kissed once and made plans to go to the hotrealms - waaaay too much information, by the way - before she showed up, but still.Â
There wasn't much she could do about it now. Haley groaned and stretched, raising an eyebrow at her - to nobody's surprise - completely unresponsive father.Â
"Yoohoo. Dad. It's been like two minutes, say something already."
Nothing.
"...a meathead who relies on swords too much says what?"
Wow, that used to get him all the time. Sighing, she sat on the ground and scratched irritably at her Brand. Gods, she hated that thing. "Alright, just...tell me when you're ready, I guess."
