The other students gave her strange looks as the departed from the room now that class had come to a close.
Mitama supposed there was a sense to their bewilderment. It was unusual to see a new student appear abruptly when their classmates had already been established, she was sure, especially one who was not actually meant to be present in the class in question.
Their oh so knowledgeable Professor had not noticed her. Or if he had, he had not commented on it in any noticeable way. If the educator did not even bother to pay attention to those who filled their seats, it was no fault of the student’s for any misdeeds that were committed.
Mitama, of course, did not have and kind of malevolence in mind. Not any more so than she usually did.
Quietly approaching the professor’s turned back, she cleared her throat. “Lessons are given / and yet the listening is / not received too well.” She grinned. “I had no idea that you had found yourself interest in a new vocation. Were the gulls too noisy?”
