It had felt like he had endured an endless amount of calls from Christina since their divorce has been finalised. It seemed to be any time in the day that she called and still it seemed he would go to comfort her even if he was happy in his new relationship which the woman he could best describe as the brightest star in the sky. Of course he still felt bad for hurting Christina. She was Luca's first love and wife after all, she would always remain special to him even if he was no longer in love with her. He'd actually finished work early today hoping to purchase a necklace for Chloe to make up for everything but had received a call from Christina asking him to come around so had not the opportunity to do so.
Luca never imagined he would ever be placed in such a predicament but then again he never imagined he would ever have gotten divorced in the first place. Supposedly, life was strange in that way as you never knew who would walk in and our of ones own life. Things were difficult for him and rather stressful as despite everything both women were important to him and would seen impossible for both to be happy at the same time. In reality, he knew he should really be putting his love first before his ex but he seemed to be unable to help himself.
"Sorry I was a little late" Luca looked to Chloe after she had stepped in the car and gotten into the passenger seat. He did feel bad for making her put up with this and he knew even though she had never said anything and been supportive regarding the matter, on the inside she must be unhappy. He knew himself that although he would understand her supporting her ex through a hard time he too would struggle thinking her ex could try something to win her back. "It was bad traffic on the road" which was not a lie, at this time the traffic was shocking as it was a the notorious 'dinner time traffic'. However, had he not just been to see Christina who's been crying into his arms for the past hour then he would of likely made it on time. He just hoped he had dosed himself in enough aftershave to cover up the smell of Christina's perfume.
Reaching across the seat, Luca gently stroked a strand of hair away from Chloe's face and tucked it behind her ear. "How was your day?" He asked softly before caressing her cheek gently with his hand.
