palmer would absolutely not have agreed to do this for anyone else and the only reason he’d agreed to do it for her was because he cared about her more than he cared about anyone else. he looked over at her, his hand holding hers for probably the first time ever. he wasn’t affectionate and he wasn’t one for pda but telling her no was actually impossible and that was something he was sure of. “so, how long we stayin’ at this party? ya know i ain’t one for bein’ out with a bunch of people i don’t know like that.” but he wouldn’t ask to leave no matter what because at the end of the day, he knew he had to be there for his friend. “and are you sure he’s gonna be here? i just don’t wanna spend all night here if there ain’t no chance we’re gonna see ‘em.”

palmer wasn't exactly proud of the way he'd ended things after kissing natasha. it wasn't like he didn't enjoy it because in all honesty, he did and it was all he could think about since it happened. it's just that he didn't want to ruin winnie's friendship with her best friend. he was worried that if he pursued a relationship with the younger woman, his sister wouldn't like it or he'd end up ruining things and putting a wedge in their friendship. it was something he'd been worrying about since that night and he was still trying to figure out what to say to her. it seemed as though he didn't have to make the first move though because natasha, thankfully, ended up texting him and he knew that he should meet up with her to talk things out.

palmer was relatively protective over the people in his life, natasha included. he knew she was just his sister’s best friend but there was something that bothered him about seeing some guy hit on her and not getting the hint when she said no. which, was why he stepped in and made sure that she was okay. “hey, asshole,” palmer started as he approached the pair, “she said no. ya know what that means? it means leave her the hell alone.” he glared and the other slowly backed off with his hands up in surrender. his blue eyes fell on the woman, “you good?”

palmer wasn’t one to chase girls. that just wasn’t who he was and still, he couldn’t stop himself from chasing clarissa. her dad had popped him for something surprisingly unrelated to his drug dealing and he noticed her visiting him at his office. he’d waited for her outside, once he was released, and surprisingly hit it off with her. now, he found any excuse he could to talk to her and he’d convinced her to grab dinner with him tonight after scoring her number during their first meeting. if palmer was anything, he was funny and that’s what usually caught the opposite gender’s attention. he was leaning against the outside of her job and smiled when she came out, “ready? i told ya i was gonna pick you up. did you forget or somethin’?”
