Arthur didn’t know what got into him. In all honesty, it was pathetic to have been the one to have fallen so deep for someone so…forbidden. He swore he was never going to be this teacher, the one that hooked up with students but he hadn’t realized it until it was too late and now he couldn’t stop thinking about her. He assumed it was more than likely because he hadn’t been with anyone else since his divorce and he’d branched out when he hooked up with her. He just…wished he made a better impression, one that kept her attention. What he did do, was probably childish, but he began to fail someone he’d seen her with and as she stopped in front of his desk at the end of class, he’d wondered if she found out. “Yes? Is there something I can do for you?”

arthur nodded his head slowly, “so, that’s it then?” his hands shifted into his pockets and a sigh slipped passed his lips that were almost formed into a pout. was there really a way that he could attempt to make this better? he wasn’t sure that there was. “you’re really breaking up with me?” his voice was soft but of course, shaky due to the emotion he was experiencing in this moment. “there’s nothing i can do?”

their age difference was normally something that would have turned him away from even approaching her but there was something about her demeanor and the way she carried herself that made him want to be closer to her. arthur was honestly a little insecure, especially considering he’d moved here after a rocky divorce and he wasn’t sure he’d ever find someone to catch his attention or someone that would feel the same for him but at this point, all he could do was try and she seemed to be happy with just that. he sat down across from her and slid over the coffee he’d ordered for her, offering her a sweet smile. “just the way you like it.” he announced, having always been one to notice the little details.

sneaking around behind his wife’s back wasn’t his proudest moment but his routine and his life at home had became boring. he wasn’t sure he was in love with her anymore and he hated that it’d come to that. he hated that at the end of the day, someone was going to get hurt and maybe he was selfish for caring about himself more than his wife’s feelings but...when was it going to be his turn? when was he finally going to get something he wanted? he’d been left behind at home, which was normal because his wife preferred to go out with her friends without him, when the doorbell rang. he got up, furrowing his eyebrows as he opened the door and then, his face shifted into a smile. “what are you doing here?” he breathed out, his hand finding hers and pulling her into his shared home before closing the door so that none of the neighbors saw her, even if he was happy to see her. “it’s not that i’m not happy to see you but it’s just that i’m surprised...is something on your mind?”
