“No offense Steve, but you look like you could use some caffeine. Do you want me to make you some tea or coffee?”

“A telepath? How interesting.”

“This is the man who nearly destroyed the Earth? Could have fooled me.” Wanda had ended up in Asgard, accompanying Thor after the events at Sokovia. It was here that she was coming face to face with the god that had provided the means to give her powers via his scepter, although she was unwilling to reveal such information just yet. She didn’t mean to sound antagonistic towards him though, more so commenting on his general demeanor as he seemed like any other god here; happy.

“No, I don’t want to be, but I lost the other wolf in my pack. Now, it’s just me. It’s better that way. I won’t have to feel the loss of another loved one if I don’t have any. I can’t go through it again. I just can’t.” Wanda’s words were quiet, her eyes firmly off in the distance and lowered to the ground, lost in the memory of Pietro. He was her twin, they had done everything in their life together, and he was just gone. He was alive one day, and dead the next. All because he had a good heart. Wanda’s heart wasn’t as pure as his, never would be thanks to her powers. All she had done with the Avengers was an attempt to be the hero Pietro always was, and all she had done was muck things up even further. It was better for her to run away, to be alone.

“I am feeling Thai tonight, what about you?” Wanda called out to Felicity, who was hard away at working up in her office as Wanda sketched out her design for her next sculpture. Their arrangement was honestly working out for them far better than Wanda had anticipated. She needed a greencard since her student visa would be expiring since she graduated, and her best friend happened to agree to a marriage of convenience. She had thought it would be awkward, but honestly, it was going great. Yeah, she had to kiss Felicity a few times, especially at the wedding, but so far, they had been able to respect each other’s boundaries far better than most. 

“I hope you like tomato soup.” Wanda called out as she felt Peter approach the community kitchen. He was brought her to become a part of the Avengers, but had denied the invitation. It didn’t change Wanda’s dinner plans though, and she still wanted him over as a guest. After she tasted the soup to ensure it had good flavor, she turned to Peter with a smile.
