Ludo sniffles absently as she tries to remember the pact she made with herself – the one where she said she’d start being healthier. Not off to a great start. She lifts the tiny spoon ( sterling silver, a birthday gift from Zuleika, because even drug-related silver had to come from Tiffany’s ) to her nostril and sniffs, then dips the spoon into the vial for one more. Still lost in her thoughts, Ludo nearly jumps out of her skin when she turns to leave the small corner and comes face-to-face with a stranger. 

“Oh, f– ” she bites back the exploitive, plastering a smile on her face and quickly zipping up her handbag. “Sorry. I hope I wasn’t in your way.”
