"jushiro worries me..." he sighs, sitting by her side and sipping from his sake cup. "he's quite passive the past few days. maybe my age is getting to me, but i can't seem to reach him. being a lady of wisdom as you are, maybe you've got a friendly piece of advice for an old man?"
"You call yourself an old man and yet I was born long before you were even a glimmer in your father's eye."
"My advice as a lady of wisdom is to apply your wisdom to ladies, as I've yet to know one who's ever wanted to be the age she is. Older when young, younger when old, but femininity has long been held as a paradox by men...who simply can't understand it's simply multifaceted rather than singular."
But, her face softens as she grins.
"Oh, but right, that's not what you wanted advice for...were you?"
"Well, if anyone seems to not be reaching out as much...meet them where they are at the very least. And where words don't work, sometimes the senses are all that will trigger. A nostalgic smell likea potpurri or a perfume. A taste like a favorite food or drink. A sound like an old song he knows the word too or the words of a book. Art that's surreal for the eyes...take him to watch the koi."
Looking at him she flicks her gaze right up and down. "A touch...perhaps?"
She's an old, shrewd soul after all...and that's why he's here. She barks with her unrefined and crashing true laughter.
"Unless that failed and that's why you're here!"
