Damien is of the core believe that nobody who has ever said the words ‘i love you’ has ever meant it. The only person in existence that actually loves him is Olive, and he believes it’s because she’s too young to know better. Because of portions of his youth, his self esteem is low and his self made persona is well built. most situations involving love has him turning tail fast. especially relationships that could put him in far too vulnerable positions. maybe this is why he ends up hanging around so many androids despite disliking them for various reasons. that and part of him somehow finds them to be the most nonthreatening to let that close until it’s too close and he has to back out. he LOVES having friends with benefits, he loves flirting, he loves fucking around, but only so long as it’s detached from him to the point that he doesn’t feel compromised.
