ooo, i like what you did with my thoughtbunny! i never thought about bucky and steve paralleling tony and rhodey for some reason, and i have to agree with you, he wouldnt be jealous of that at all! maybe somber tho? if this is an au where he doesn't have buck buck at the mo' and he misses him, seeing himself and bucky in rhodey and tony. also you are SO right, tony has so much love in him. you just know he can't contain his love for his two favorite people in his 5'8 body, he bursts! 💓
Definitely somber. It becomes a source of comfort but there are moments when he looks at them, at Rhodey's amused exasperation, the arm hooked around Tony's neck and it's like seeing himself and Bucky 70 years ago and it hurts so badly.
And because of that--when Bucky comes back, Tony moves heaven and earth to bring him home.
And hey lookit that--Tony has a new person, a very loyal ex-assassin, a brand new James to love. Excellence all around.
