Do you ever just start to saying something and then it HITS YOU. BAM. Why a certain phrase or idiom makes sense?
Like, I was thinking today about how my roommate said that my knife was too sharp for just trimming the fat off of her chicken. And then I was cutting up vegetables and removing the suspiciously ugly parts. And somewhere within all that my brain finally spits out something like, âmethodically trimming the fat off of meat (or getting rid of some other undesired part of your food) is like... discriminately deciding which people are actually friends that you want to keep in your life and which people are not worth keeping around!â.
And then I thought it was kind of sad that my mind would sooner go from a food reality to a friend metaphor instead of a friend reality to a food metaphor.
