So, I’ve finished my binge of the first season of “The Get Down,” ...
... and, on one hand, I want it to never end, and it needs to be renewed immediately, because I need to know that my (Thor’s) Dizzee is alive!, but, on the other, the 1980s are fast approaching in the predominant era, and the plague that came with them would have specifically targeted my five favourites (Dizzee, Thor, Shaolin, Mylene, and Jackie), and I don’t want to see any of them fall to it, and the only one we know is still alive in ‘99 is Ezekiel/Books. More seasons are definitely needed, because there are too many other unanswered questions, like ‘How did Shaolin finally escape Annie’s grip?’ and ‘Did Boo-Boo, and Thor, just become victims of the prison industrial complex in America or did they get the justice that they deserve by there being more to their stories?,’ but, please, let this show gracefully end before reality would demand that the lives of the progressive characters are met with utter peril.
