Taking steps to recovery is the hardest steps I've ever tried taking but there not impossible I'm so close just know it, it's going to be tough but I keep telling myself that I can do it! I know I can! I just have slip ups.. But I'm not ashamed of them I'm done with being ashamed there's nothing to be ashamed of I am who I am and I'm becoming a better person just by thinking that the way I used to be, the person I was is now gone I have someone in my life who is finally there like no one has before he may not know what to say at times but I know he's listening and that's all I need to know he's there for me he's even saved my life a few times actually just the thought of him brightens my day but to what I was saying before I'm done with the person I was she was sad ever second of every day cuts were on her arm and no one was there because no one cared but there are others now and they can help and I'm willing to get better I will win this war with my depression it shall not concur me

I'm volunteering at Dress for Success a Vancouver organization that allows women to get up onto their feet and back into the workforce by setting up interviews and making dress clothes available for cheap so they can look their best. What an amazing organization trying to do the right thing by people who are down on their luck. I can't imagine having a job interview and having nothing to wear not being able to afford any new clothes because the little money i have needs to go to food ... or my kids.

is a week of volunteering for me, for helping others out that are having a harder time then I find myself in at the moment. I don't nearly do enough. The one thing i've learnt from tumblr is that no matter how hard of a time you're going through or have gone through in your past there are always people who have had it a lot better but also people who have had it much worse. So i'm starting to give back including volunteering at Dress for Success a charity that helps women get back onto their feet supplying them with business clothes for interviews and their (hopefully!) new jobs.

Today is the start of a new me - better and healthier person with an entirely new lease on life. I will post updates of my journey and use this as my motivation. My goal is to learn to love myself and the way that I look. I will post as often as I can x.
