My local buy nothing group had a woman asking for clothes for herself and her teen daughters.
I've lost 40lbs in the last 6 months and i cleaned my closet out of my old clothes and they've been sitting in a bag waiting for me to drive them to a donation center for weeks.
I sent the lady pics of the clothes and she said she'd take them!
I delivered them to her door and dropped on her porch. No contact the entire time.
She doesn't owe me anything and i understand how awkward asking for help in these buy nothing facebook groups, but I'm curious if they liked my old clothes or thought i had terrible taste and hated them.
When i was growing up my mom was a single parent and we struggled for a good few years. We relied on donations from family friends and aunts for hand me down clothes. I got some really cute clothes that way. And also quite a few hideous shirts that became my yard work/paint clothes. But they were always appreciated and used. And since we saw the friends and relatives regularly in person or on Facebook they got to see me wearing their donations. Everyone was happy.
Felt good to give back today. And i won't message the woman asking her for any follow up. I'll just choose to believe they loved them all and move on.
