So, I live in Utah and I'm Catholic. My parents are divorced and I live with my mom. Half my family is Mormon (dad's side) and half are Catholic (Mom's side). I told my mom about how in school that day, my history teacher was talking about gay rights and same-sex marriage.
The kids in my class booed
I was unable to do anything without getting into major trouble. My mom agreed with me about how awful it was kids my age (I'm 13) were practically brainwashed to hate people who are different.
I told my dad's side of the family and they said I was wrong to support same-sex marriage and that if I did the fiery flames of hell would consume me for all eternity.
That was last semester.
I'm in health now, and I asked my teacher, using a 'Question Box' without my name on the paper.
My Question?
What nonbinary and asexual meant and why people were so against them.
I had seen the terms floating around on my dash more than once, but I didn't have an exact definition.

Half the guys in my class called asexuals plants.
Almost all the girls in my class called nonbinary people abnormal.
