If Vickie is an obvious tribute to Molly Ringwald’s character Andie, then Robin is Duckie (Andie’s best friend, an outsider who is in love with her, but is afraid to tell her how he truly feels), because there is no way Robin is Blane (a rich douchebag).

I have two interpretations of Pretty in Pink "coincidence", one crazier than another lmao

1. Vckie is Andie, Robin is Duckie, Steve is Blane (I’m really sorry but there is not much rich douchebag teenagers in the show) and Nancy is......Duckette.

So Vckie will end up with Steve or whatever alone idc and Robin with Nancy. Hooray, a win is a win!

2. Vckie is Duckette, Robin is Duckie, Steve is Blane and Nancy is.....Andie

Ride with me: Robin and Nancy are best friends, just like Duckie and Andie. And Robin, same as Duckie, is in love with her best friend Nancy.

But Nancy will choose Steve and Robin will end up with Vckie

BUT 2nd concept is JUST SO FUCKING GOOD for angst fanfic plots (Ronance ofc) and I guess this was a hint for our brave ronance warriors from the duffers who are too chicken to make ronance canon :) And it kinda semi-canonically states that Robin is in love with Nancy

When Korra and Asami first met, Korra was very jealous of Asami because she was dating Mako. Asami was happy to meet Korra and said she had heard a lot about her, but Korra angrily replied that she hadn't heard anything about her.

Nancy and Robin first met at Starcourt and Nancy's first reaction to Robin was the "I’m sorry, who are you?" question. And later in season 4 during the famous library scene Nancy was kinda irritated and jealous (sorry, im autistic and still can't explain Nancy's reaction otherwise to myself) of Robin. She said that Robin is "obviously bored, and she should just call Steve who will pick her up". Meanwhile Robin showed her impression of Nancy's coolness and being a badass just like Asami to Korra.
