I've always said that Benophie's reunion should be like a disney action scene like one of those where the Prince and The Princess fight the villains and run away, it would be so good and so fun and specially so unique, it would be like Benedict: WE DID IT! WE KNOCKED THEM UP! Sophie: ONLY BI LITTLE RUUUUUUUUUN!! *they jumo into Benedict's horse and go to my cottage*
I am so sorry this has taken me so long to post to such a good idea! Yes, yes, yes--here we go...
(Written in the format of a tv script.)
*~*~*~*~*
Sophie struggles against Cavender frantically.
Cavender: Shh, shh. Sophie. We just want to have a bit of fun.
Benedict: Cavender!
All assembled look around as a tall figure strides towards them, once close, the viewer sees it is Benedict Bridgerton.
Benedict: What do we have here?
Cavendar smiles wolfishly.
Cavendar: Just having a little fun with the maid.
Benedict: I see and does the woman wish to partake in this fun?
Benedict looks to Sophie who is still trying to wriggle out of Cavender's grip. It takes her a moment before she realises he is talking to her.
Sophie: No.
Benedict: Well, it seems you have your answer, gentlemen. Let the woman go.
He steps forward, utilising his height advantage. Cavendar's friends look to him for leadership. Cavendar smiles wider.
Cavendar: Alright, Bridgerton. Off you go.
Benedict: I said let the woman go.
Cavendar: Truly? Relax Bridgerton, she is only a maid.
Benedict's expression hardens.
Benedict: She is still a woman, and so you should have the honour to respect her wishes.
Cavendar laughs and uses a hand to gesture to his friends.
Cavendar: Go on then, why not rescue her from us savages.
Cavendar's friends clench their fists, stepping up as if to fight. Benedict sighs and prepares to engage
Sophie, now only held with one arm, takes the opportunity to escape. She elbows Cavendar in the side before turning and planting a fist to his nose. Cavendar's friends turn and Sophie knocks the first one out with a punch and hits the other with her bag. She then sprints off leaving Benedict at the scene stunned. After a moment he follows her and manages to catch up.
Benedict: Miss! Miss--wait!
Sophie spins, grabbing some fabric scissors from her bag and holding them out in front of her as a weapon.
Sophie: I swear to god if you step any closer I shall use this weapon!
Benedict halts, arms up protectivley.
Benedict: Are those not fabric scissors?
Sophie eyes flicker to the scissors then back to him. .
Sophie: Perhaps--but I can still poke your eyes out with them.
Benedict: I do not doubt it.
Sophie: You are going to stand there and stay standing until I have departed.
Benedict: Departed where?
Sophie: That is none of your business.
Benedict: Miss, please be reasonable--
He tries to step forward but she bradishes the scissors.
--the next village is seven miles away down country roads. You shall be walking out of one trap and into another.
Sophie looks down the dark path, biting her lip. But she turns back to him, resolute.
Sophie: I shall take those odds.
Benedict: Or you could take my offer.
Sophie: Your offer?
Benedict: I am about to depart in my carriage to my cottage, a mere mile or so from the next village. Allow me to accompany you and ensure your safety.
Sophie: And I am supposed to trust you?
Benedict: I did just save you--you are welcome.
Sophie scoffs.
Sophie: You call that a rescue--why what a Don Quixote you are. Thank you for your lack of assistance, I am sure I shall be perfectly content without it going forward. Goodnight.
She turns to leave. Benedict reaches out for her.
Benedict: Miss--I insist.
Cavendar: BRIDGERTON!
Benedict and Sophie look back up the drive. Cavendar and his friends are now running towards them.
Sophie: Perhaps a carriage is not the worst ideas. Shall we.
Benedict: Absolutely. This way.
Without thinking, Benedict takes her hand and drags her to the phaeton and helps her up, before ascending himself. As the phaeton draws away Cavendar continues to run before losing his footing.
Cavendar: You shall never be invited to another party Bridgerton!
Benedict: What a dreadful shame.
Cavendar: This slander shall not go unpunished!
Benedict: I'm practically quivering in my boots...
The pair continue in silence until Benedict sighs.
Benedict: Well, quite an eventful ending to a terribly boring party.
Sophie and Benedict look at each other--then burst out laughing.

(Yes, I know, Sophie doesn't recognise Benedict in this. But I think they should delay Sophie recognising him so there is not such an imbalance.)
