Delta always loved bringing her pigmy puff out on the first day back at hogwarts. It was a welcome introduction to some of the amazing magical creatures that muggleborns had only ever dreamt of, and a great comfort to those first years who had grown up with magic all around them. Sherlock, her purple colored pet, wasn’t as fond of the tradition of being passed around by grubby eleven year old hands, but he was patient up until the moment Delta decided to rescue him from the hoard of kids. She was certain she felt quite similar to her poor little pet, his fur puffed out in stress. It was still a little bit of a shock coming back to school each year after having spent summer in her country home, far away from civilization.
Delta patted down his fur as she walked through the mostly empty corridors, making her way to the courtyard which was now bathed in the blood orange sunlight of the setting sun. Her little “vampy problem” made the golden rays most unwelcome but Delta would brave them to find a spot of shade, plop down her and Sherlock, and pull out a cauldron cake to split between her and her pet. “I’ve got a few more cakes if you want one!” Delta offered to the footsteps approaching her, eyes focused on her pet rather than the person she was talking to.
