That's it kids, have fun figuring it all out-
It’s great that the end of the mysterious obelisk in Utah was some Leave No Trace dudes with tools and a wheelbarrow, who hauled it off bc ‘you shouldn’t leave trash in the desert like this’. Good stuff.
The face of someone who yelled at a principal (not mine, thankfully) in the middle of a meeting today because he was so incredibly unprepared, wasting everyone’s time, and was flat out wrong in his suggestions. I almost never raise my voice to people in anger but holy wow did he push every single button I had today. I will probably write something longer later this week about all of the school shit that has been going down but it’s stressful and unnecessary and has confirmed my desire to gtfo.
Settling myself down (so I can stop laughing hysterically and flipping out that I am getting fired) with a walk outside on a perfectly crisp fall day and a very big glass of wine.
I have like. So much anxiety about the election tomorrow. But I’m trying very very hard not to perseverate on things I can’t control. We’re pretty close to DC, though, which makes things extra fun.
Man. What a Monday.

Turns out that after successfully averting all the opportunities for meltdowns this year, losing my "i'm vintage" dino enamel pin that I got at the Museum of Natural History in New York is what made me have a breakdown.
Once upon a time there was a Chinese farmer whose horse ran away. That evening, all of his neighbors came around to commiserate. They said, “We are so sorry to hear your horse has run away. This is most unfortunate.” The farmer said, “Maybe.” The next day the horse came back bringing seven wild horses with it, and in the evening everybody came back and said, “Oh, isn’t that lucky. What a great turn of events. You now have eight horses!” The farmer again said, “Maybe.” The following day his son tried to break one of the horses, and while riding it, he was thrown and broke his leg. The neighbors then said, “Oh dear, that’s too bad,” and the farmer responded, “Maybe.” The next day the conscription officers came around to conscript people into the army, and they rejected his son because he had a broken leg. Again all the neighbors came around and said, “Isn’t that great!” Again, he said, “Maybe.”
