Second semester rolled around and Tim Drake had somehow crammed himself into every single class he needed. Keeping his grades up and having an adopted billionaire father might have helped, but in the world of college class scheduling, it was the wild west. Bright-eyed despite the harrowing journey through Gotham traffic, however, he almost skipped his way up the steps to the science department at Gotham U.
His first class of the day, after all, was with the world-renowned nuclear physicist, Otto Octavius. Tim owned not one, but all of the man's books, displayed prominently on a shelf in his dorm room. He'd preached to himself, over and over, that he would not gush at his professor, that he would chill the heck out, present himself with dignity and prove his worth and brains in class.
Needless to say, he was the first one in the lecture hall, aside from the professor himself, which naturally made things awkward. His footsteps echoed around the hall as he entered, face already going beet red, completely unbidden.
“Good morning, Professor,” Tim choked out, praying the wavering in his voice was not as obvious to the professor as it was to him. He stuck out a hand, gathering his notebooks and textbooks handily in the other. “Welcome to Gotham U.”
