Writing with an aching heart
While you drink, you spill, have a cigar
Sounds like a common poetry confession
But it's the sheet and pen that got you under their possession.
You try to leave a note, but it's all just plain cry.
You say you're hurt, noone feels like you, you wish you could just die.
A touch of hopelessness, sprinkle of doubt, a recipe for grilled human soul. You left the pen and took the sheet and what you want now is to show!
To show the world, to show to her, to get a place on stage. And while they're watching, holding breath, break out of the cage!
And she will see. She'll change her mind. And everyone will love you. But curtain falls, noone applauds, there's not another show.
Now be a man with common sense. Say that's not tears, just condense. Get off of stage, bring your pen up high and scream - From love I will not die!
