The entire moment looked so normal. Alien they might be, but so far Alyssa didn’t see the Tul-Khamin acting that different from humans. And, as Alyssa spent more years among aliens than on her own damn planet, she felt more at ease here than on the Colony. Because amongst other humans, her oddness stood out in stark contrast. But here, among the Tul-Khamin, she could find no better place to hide. Who could say she’s not a normal young woman? They had no idea how humans were supposed to be, to act. Nobody would point fingers in her direction here. And she could pretend the odd looks thrown her way were because of her exotic appearance, and not because she was, inherently, a basket case.
