a lesson from your 30s
life is just a long string of people trying to sell you things—jobs, items, services, relationships—of which a certain percentage is inherently bullshit. and life is about learning what percentage of bullshit you're willing to be sold.
sometimes it's absolutely worth putting up with some bullshit for what you get out of it—a great relationship with a flawed human being, for example; or a job that don't pay great but covers the bills and doesn't make you want to bash your brains out.
but growing up is also about learning how to sniff out bullshit before you have buyer's remorse about it, and also sending the bullshit you can't tolerate packing.
