Recently leaked real-life photos of a clear protective case designed for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 have revealed that Samsung may not have any big plans to change the design of the foldable series with the release of the new model. The transparent covers show that the only noticeable difference in design is that the cutout for the LED flash has been moved from the bottom of the camera module to the side. This suggests that the camera housing of the Z Fold 5 may not be as tall as it is on the Z Fold 4, or that the relocation of the LED flash may have left room for another module. Overall, the case confirms that the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be similar to its predecessors.Galaxy Z Fold 5 may feature a new hinge design for a thinner profileOne significant change expected in the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is its new hinge design that will allow it to fold shut perfectly flat, leaving no space between the two halves. While this change cannot be observed from the recently leaked photos of a clear protective case, it is said to make the phone's book-like design look more mature and contribute to a thinner profile, a significant improvement from the 15.8mm-thick profile of the Z Fold 4. Other expected improvements in the phone include performance and display quality. However, there may not be a significant camera upgrade this year. Overall, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to be more of an upgrade meant for Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Z Fold 3 owners rather than Z Fold 4 users. Samsung is set to unveil its new foldable flagship at Unpacked in late July or early August.
