#sighs
I look forward to waking up to a time when all women – black, Indian, lesbian, Muslim, Pakistani, Christian, Ghanaian, Iraqi, divorced, married, single, albino – will be respected and treated equally and the idea of equality will not only be a thing of the books but of certainty.
I look forward to seeing a time when all women will come to know and make use of the tremendous power they wield.
That day when religion can no more be used as a tool of oppression…
That day when Indian and Pakistani women can freely marry who they love regardless of their caste…
That day when Boko Haram will not be tolerated.
When instead of being raped, murdered and treated like dirt, lesbian women in South Africa can be embraced and shown some love................................................................................
That day when I can make a simple sketch without it ever being surprising that, that sketch came from a girl.
Until that day comes, I am not stopping.
