The horrors of war would be a lot less horrible if I could experience them in a mech. Like yeah I'd still be taking the life of my fellow man for the sake of a country that does not truly value me and is only using my life as a tool to further increase their influence... but I'd be in a cool ass big robot so like would really be all that bad?
obviously i think tyrest is wrong about constructed cold transformers being inherently corrupt, but tbh i also think ultra magnus is wrong about this being a concidence.
my question is: how many of the defendants were MTOs? how many of them were thrown onto a battlefield right after they were born? and how might that warp their ideas of whatās acceptable?Ā it wouldnāt surprise me if MTOs were more likely to commit atrocities (their lives have been nothing but atrocities). but this is because of how they were treated after they were born, not because they were constructed cold.
i alsoĀ wouldnāt be surprised if MTOs ended up on trial for crimes that werenāt solely theirs. the Aeqitus technology could (supposedly) determine guilt, but it didnāt determine who was brought before it in the first place. even if MTOs did the dirty work, how many of these crimes were ordered by (potentially forged) higher ups who disclaimed knowledge afterward?
So, in MTMTE #53, Nautica and Rewind had this conversation:
Nautica asked if on Cybertron, amicas are allowed to become conjunxes, and then saidĀ āthere are certain questions you keep putitng off...until you realize youāve only got a few hours to act on the answer.ā This heavily implies that sheās romantically interested in one of the people who become her amicas in the next issue.
A lot of people assumed she was talking about Skids, but at a convention, JRo confirmed that Skids and Nauticaās feelings for each other were platonic. So who was she talking about?
Allow me to answer that question with some questions of my own.
Who did she call by a nickname in the amica endura ceremony?
Who had an entire issue heavily focusing on their relationship with Nautica (complete with montage)?
Who did she want toĀ āworship like a godā?
Also just look at how theyāre looking at each other here:
tl;dr Nautica is in love with Velocity
okay this explains a lot, but not everything. namely: why did it think that Nautica wanted to see Skids? can it not read emotions? so it saw that Nautica and Skids were close and assumed she would still miss him? does she still have her grief buried deep down somewhere that this thing could access but she canāt?
also: apparently the thing that would make the LL crew happiest is being dead, so thatās depressing. and whyĀ is garrus-9 the Scavengersā utopia?
(iām not done with the issue so this might get explained)

Okay so Iām making this post a couple weeks later than I planned to, but I donāt think the LL crew are actually in the Afterspark and hereās why (sorry it got really long):
1) Weird Stuff From LL13
In the interests of saving space, Iām not pasting panels, but all this happened in LL13:
Swerveās ass catching on fire for no reason
Ratchet going grey
Losing the lock on Getaway
Getting news of TailgateāsĀ ādeathā (which I think is fake for several reasons, see below)
Cyclonus accidentally hurting Rewind
The mass displacement wearing off
Ten talking and happening to know exactly whatās wrong with Ratchet
Now some of that stuff is just weird on its own (Swerveās ass catching on fire, Ratchet going grey, Ten talking), and the rest of that is just a lotĀ of stuff going wrong in weirdly quick succession.
Thereās still no explanation for Ten being able to talk (and again, this wouldāve happened before they ādiedā), or for his voice sounding different (according to Nightbeat), or for how he knew what was wrong with Ratchet. SomethingĀ weird was going on in LL13, and until thatās explained, Iām not going to trust anything theyāre perceiving.
2) Tailgateās Death (or lack thereof)
Iāve been saying this whole time that I donāt believe Tailgate is dead, and Iām sticking with that. This is not the reaction you have when you see that your friend is dead:
And Iām not going to repeat this entire post again, butĀ āthe whole body is atomized in secondsā meansĀ āthere was no body,ā which is already suspicious as hell in any fictional medium. But ALSO JRo has said that if we donāt see someone die on screen, we shouldnāt assume theyāre dead.
So if Tailgate isnāt dead, and everyone else is, how could this happen?
3) Early Early Warning System
If theyāre in heaven, why wouldnāt Brainstormās early early warning system stop going off?
Honestly, how did the early early warning system even come with them to heaven?
So what do I think is actually happening?
Honestly Iām not sure. I think some variation on the phobia shield theoryĀ is still possible, although the technology is clearly a little different than what we saw in the spotlight. Mostly I just think there are too many unanswered questions, and thereās (sorry for this)(no iām not) more than meets the eye going on here.
because i absolutely love being sad, you know who chromedome and rewind could run into in the afterspark? (whether itās actually the afterlife or not?)

Okay, I talked a little about TAAO's implications for cold constructed Cybertronians in my post on the Annual, but Iāve got more to say.
Letās recap:
Cybertron had apartheid. Some forged Cybertronians tried to (and claimed they did) prove that cold constructed Cybertronians were inferior. Presumably, thisĀ āproofā was used to further support apartheid, because thatās how these things work.
Now, letās flash forward to Tyrest.
āIām saying that theyāre predisposed towards sin.ā
Now, Tyrest is not exactly thinking clearly, given the hole he drilled in his head. Some of the characters are prejudiced, but thereās no reason to believe constructed cold Cybertronians are actually inclined to be any worse than forged Cybertronians.
Until TAAO rolled around and made just seeingĀ his true form nudge Starscream in the right direction. Logically, actually embodying his true form would improve Starscreamās character even more. The logical conclusion of this plot point is that Tyrest was right. The city-states thatĀ āprovedā cold construction was inferior were right.
And that does not sit well with me at all.
