Although being open and transparent doesnāt often rewarded us with brownie points, particularly from those who arenāt, it does mean we get to sit comfortably with our conscience.
And although being open and transparent about our lives doesnāt always sit comfortably with others, we shouldnāt have to accept another personās behaviour, which is even more important why we need to tell them how we feel.
If we say something and that someone reacts negatively, perhaps they should think about why weāre saying what weāre saying, instead of them making what we say about us. That said, not saying how things are for us, will eventually create a rift in our already fragile relationships.
But realistically, there is only so much we can keep to ourselves, before something blows up and thatās not pretty either. And not being open not only messes with our health, but stunts emotional and spiritual growth too.
Sadly, not saying what we feel, also continues to create more emotional distance, fall-outs, arguments and secrecy between people and in relationships and can also be the difference between us staying well and becoming ill.
Saying how things are means we're being true to ourselves. We get one crack at the life thing, we must be open, honest and transparent. There is no other way.
