I want that yarn. I have other yarn in those same colors and textures but its not like that yarn. I could use the other yarn but it’s not the same. I want that yarn to sit in my stash with the other yarn and give me yarn ideas.

Composer/artist Ellen Fullman began developing her unique instrument/installation/performance art piece “The Long String Instrument” in 1981. This large-scale site-specific work consists of 70-foot-long metallic cables, anchored by a wooden resonator. The performer moves back and forth among the wires with rosin-covered fingers and the instrument produces droney tonalities that cannot be achieved with traditional instruments. The experience of interacting with “The Long String Instrument” has been compared to standing inside of a huge grand piano.

The origin of this group was in "Gravity", the second solo album by guitarist Fred Frith appeared in 1980 at the time, "Gravity" was described as "avant-garde dance music." Even today it is considered a milestone in the work of Fred Frith. Some musicians around San Francisco where the artist teaches at Mills College convinced him to revive this legendary album. The Gravity Band interprets the pieces integrally, completed with some pieces of this time. Played for the first time live, these compositions find a new life. Close to the original recordings, they are adorned with new arrangements and open some new spaces for improvisation. Gravity Band musicians belong to the cream of the crop of West Coast jazz. Included among them the great guitarist Ava Mendoza.
