I have tried a couple of things for Thing 15--I have enjoyed some TED talks, tested Khan Academy and selected a few healthier choices on Eat This, Not That (love that book!). I got rid of Eat This, Not That pretty quickly. It seems like more of a game than a useful nutritional tool and I know I won't use it again. I will, however, continue watching TED talks and am hoping to try our Khan Academy with my son to see what he thinks.

Thing 15
Since I am relatively unfamiliar with any of the apps that were listed on the page, I decided to try out the Today's Document app to see what it had to offer. I looked up what the well known event that happened on my birthday was just to see what it had to say. Apparently the treaty of Kanagawa was signed on that day which opened the ports of Shimoda and Hakodate in Japan to trade with America. I didn't mind using the app, however it doesn't look to be updated to fit to the IPhone 5c and above so the app was placed a bit awkwardly on my screen. Overall it was pretty cool getting to see the different events that happened on various days! Â

Things 14, 15 & 16
I'm sitting at my back yard and revising the past knowledge about the last couple of Things I had to complete and being very thankful to the #SurreyUniversity for the possibility of course attendance. I have learned so much.
I have always been very curious about the possible on-line protection of my work and I have never seen it as a 100% sure thing. My brother has a PhD in informatics and computer science and has always warned me that when publishing on-line, there is no complete certainty for the protection of your work. When once published, the chances of paper stealing are almost certain. Â
Within the last Things, certain tools for researchers, with which they can protect their work were presented. All of them in some ways defenetly do, but I still think that there is no complete certainty.Â
I was also very interested in CC license for your work and I’m certainly going to use it when publishing because I think that it is very easy to create one and it is one of the most certain protectors.Â
At last I can say, that by my opinion, there is always a possibility of someone stealing your work, so try to protect your research/any kind of work in as much ways as possible.
For this week’s task I’m posting the appropriate licensed image in the next post.

I’m almost ashamed to admit how many of the apps that appeared in the #23mt games are already on my phone. I have three versions of Angry Birds alone (a must when you have small kids and plan to take them anywhere with a line or long wait), though I don’t get the appeal myself. I’m a Tetris master, and I had to give up Words with Friends because it was pretty much eating up my life. That’s a terrible game to play when you have friends who live a lot of different time zones, since it means someone is almost always awake and playing. I prefer my bedtime avoidance mechanism to be reading, not Words with Friends, so I had to delete that awhile back. I liked the NYT crossword app, but I prefer Shortz, which has a ton of puzzles to choose from and a nice interface. And given my addictive game personality (see previous comment re: Words with Friends), I’m not going anywhere near Candy Crush Saga. I’ve heard it quickly becomes an obsession, and I know people who have actually created fake Facebook accounts just to get extra lives or whatever the game gives you for telling a friend on Facebook. Ditto for FarmVille. I think abstention is the safest route in this instance. :)

Everything had been ordinary. Everything was just fine. Until he turned up. Annie never would've thought that he would have the audacity to turn up ever again. It angered her. Made her blood boil. She felt like ripping his head off in the blink of an eye when she pushed him against a wall after he took a wrong turn. It was wierd how it seemed like he had no idea where he was going. But now wasn't the time to think about that.
With both of her hands at his collar, Annie hindered him from escaping. "Ros." An incredibly low growl escaped her throat and her fierce gaze pierced right through him. The shifter was too angry to pay attention to his piss poor state. All she felt was rage seething deep down in her stomach. If Adrian wasn't going to be angry, she would have to be.
