LOUVRE MUSEUM: THE ROBBERY THAT SHOOK PARIS
📍 Four suspects armed with mechanical tools broke into the museum on October 19, escaping on motorcycles with what authorities described as “immeasurable treasures.”
⏳ The theft took place between 9:30 and 9:40 a.m. local time, just after the museum had opened for visitors.
‼️ Images from some news sites show that the thieves appeared to use a truck-mounted lift to reach the Galerie d’Apollon (Apollo Gallery) via a balcony overlooking the Seine River.
📎 The group then reportedly cut through glass panels using grinders or power saws to break into the museum, steal the jewelry, and flee on motorcycles.
💎 According to officials, eight items were taken, including crowns, necklaces, earrings, and brooches - all dating from the 19th century and once belonging to French royalty or nobility.
💰 The stolen jewels worth an estimated 88 million euros ($102 million).
