New Moxy hotel openings
Fairhurst are pleased to announce the opening of two Moxy hotels in Glasgow and at Edinburgh Airport. Whilst our Glasgow office have been supporting the client, Vastint, with engineering services including structural, civil, geo-environmental and water, our Newcastle office has provided landscape architecture services on the two above mentioned hotels, as well as many others across the country.
Moxy Edinburgh is located next to the cityās airport and opened in January of this year, the first development as part of a wider masterplan surrounding the airport. Ā The design approach for the external space includes avenue tree planting along the main approach to the airport with footpath connections linking to public transport provision. Ornamental planting to the hotel frontage includes seasonal pops of colour, referencing the signature lighting of the Moxy signage and brand.
Moxy Glasgow is located in the heart of the city centre, in Glasgowās Merchant City and opened in November last year. The design offers high quality design using granite paving supplied by Charcon, complementing the hotel and the surrounding Glasgow Collegelands, as well as Cor-ten steel street furniture including planters and seating. Fairhurst will be continuing their work with Vastint and Clark Contracts on upcoming Moxy hotel projects.
