On This Day In Royal History . 17 March 1637 . Anne of England was born . š Anne of EnglandĀ was the daughter ofĀ King Charles IĀ & his wife,Ā Henrietta Maria of France. She was one of the coupleās three children to die in childhood. . ā¼ Anne was born on 17 March 1637 atĀ St. Jamesās Palace, the seventh child & third daughter of KingĀ Charles I of EnglandĀ & hisĀ queen,Ā Henrietta Maria of France. . ā¼ Her siblings included the futureĀ Charles II of England; Mary, Princess Royal & future Princess of Orange; the futureĀ James II of EnglandĀ &Ā Elizabeth of England. . ā¼ Anne was baptised anĀ AnglicanĀ atĀ St. Jamesās PalaceĀ on 30 March, byĀ William Laud, the AnglicanĀ Bishop of London. Anne only lived to see the birth of two siblings: the stillborn Catherine (29 June 1639) &Ā Henry Stuart, Duke of Gloucester. She died before the birth of her sister,Ā Princess Henrietta of England, who marriedĀ Philippe I, Duke of OrlĆ©ansĀ & had four children by him. . āŖ Anne was a sickly child. She was frail and slightly deformed. . ā¼ Anne became ill withĀ tuberculosis,Ā a disease which would later kill her more famous sister Elizabeth. Aged just three, Anne died atĀ Richmond Palace.
