Heyooo! So I just randomed across your stories about unplottable houses and doppelgangers on my dash (IT WAS RIVETING), and I was just wondering... did your professor, or do you for that matter, have any recommendations for good books about cryptids? I'm always looking for some more weird reading. :D
Well, none of the original course was about cryptids so much as âWhat makes something monstrous/freaky?â Which is a GREAT question, and itâs all good reading:
Freakery: Cultural Spectacles of the Extraordinary Body By Rosemarie Garland Thompson. Itâs a text book, but it;s a REALLY FUCKING GOOD textbook about the history of disability and the cultures around âfreakishnessâ and itâs super well-written.
Theories of International Politcs And Zombies By Daniel W. Drezner is a great introduction to international politics through the lens of disasters and the weird cultural niche zombies hold.
The Thackery T. Lambshead Pocket Guide To Eccentric And Discredited Diseases  is like if monty python write for the mayo clinic and it;s HILARIOUS
Also good; read Freakery, THEN read Phantom of the Opera or Dracula, and think about how those books are influenced by perceptions of monstousness.

Oh man, is this the review everybody's mad about? I'm so familiar with his in other reviewers. My friends used to do this with Keanu Reeves. Like "Keanu Reeves sucks and I'm gonna keep harping on it until all of you get it." This dude's decided that Sebstan being overrated and untalented is a hill he wants to die on. Which is hilarious, because it also means Seb is the only actor he's even mentioned by name in his review, like REALLY?
He's just so unnoteworthy you had a whole two or so column inches there and you had to get a dig in at him specifically where you couldn't devote space to any of the people who stick around more than one ep, eh? This guy either just hates Seb as an actor for whatever reason and will harp on this for the rest of his career because we're all so unenlightened, OR he desperately wants to bone Seb and is having trouble handling his feelings.
Thatâs the one. Somebody else also pointed out that the guy used space he could have applied a more well rounded view of the cast or series, but no, zeroed in on Seb instead. Apparently heâs historically unkind to Seb. Iâm not surprised that this is a thing, Iâm just disappointed that these people get to be called âprofessionalsâ.

OK but listen just COMPARATIVELY SPEAKING, if you're OT3ing it ANYWAY, most of the Steve/Bucky/Peggy out there is fairly wholesome. I mean there's a lot of power dynamic kind of kink but it's definitely not HTP level anything. :D
Hilariously, thatâs an OT3 Iâve never gotten around to actually writing, so... no help there. I think the only things Iâve ever even plotted out that featured Bucky/Steve/Peggy were, like... a/b/o and a psychic wolf AU?

As a former actual professional paid movie reviewer, I couldn't disagree more. Reviews don't matter all that much. If it's a TON of a bad reviews of a thing, that matters because it could end up tanking the project. What these people actually care about is whether a thing is PROFITABLE, not whether it's any good.
Iâm grateful for knowledgeable people coming to me with their experiences (especially wen they validate my initial gut reaction)! Thank you!!

I wish they WERE joking, but I've gotten attitude like this before as well, and honestly it makes me less inclined to even take prompts if the person sending it is then going to turn around and bite me. SO stupid.
Yeah, Iâm pretty sure it was no joke, Iâve seen some mean stuff crop up on my dash (Iâve been lucky personally, only once was anything cruel directed at me). Itâs pretty bad when you have to have a disclaimer on your blog or something.
Please, those who take prompts, continue to do so, Iâve seen some great things!! Itâs still your work. If somebody sends it anonymously, they obviously donât care for the attention, if you do know who it is, usually a mention seems to be good. These entitled few shouldnât ruin it for so may who enjoy both sending prompts and seeing their prompts come alive.
