What if Yuuri wanted to start doing ballet to be just like his big sister. Of course they both are just wonderful at it and eventually Minako encourages them to try some skating.
So Mari and Yuuri start skating and become one of the top pairs teams in Japan, then start competing internationally. Mari and Yuuko get really close as well and they all look up to Viktor. Then they go to Detroit together to train and Phichit becomes just like a third sibling to them. So they all go get to each other’s competitions and cheer each other on.
They have a YouTube channel too (a la ShibSibs) where they post stuff under the handle KatsuSibs and have quite a nice following. Then they get to go to the Olympics and of course they’re at all of Phichit’s events too and he is doing wonderful and skating in the same group as Viktor. So Viktor sees Phichit’s very attractive cheerleader who is wearing a team Japan jacket and wonders why he’s never seen him skate before.
Viktor drags Yuri and Chris to all the pair skating events and they cheer on the Japanese team who takes home their first Olympic Gold (because you KNOW talent runs in that family) and then at the after party Viktor approaches Yuuri and is absolutely smitten.
But of course Yuuri remembers nothing and so it’s Viktor who goes and learns Mari’s part of their gold medal routine and performs it and puts it on YouTube. KatsuSibs get tagged in the video which goes viral and Viktor flies out to Japan under the ruse that he wants to break into pairs skating and needs Yuuri and Mari to coach him. Mari is the only reason those two are finally able to get together because she helps Viktor learn the parts and when Mari sprains her ankle, he takes her place in the exhibition.
After they finally get together, Viktor admits he is staying in singles skating. But the trio all go travel to competitions together and they just dominate the skating world.
