Here is my attempt to make sense of what “Dragonborn” means in this series

There are 2 types of dragonborns: those who have the soul of a dragon (LDB, Miraak, etc.) and therefore the disposition of one and the ability to easily learn shouts, and those that have been blessed with the blood of Akatosh (Alessia, Septims, etc.) who are just normal mortals with Akatosh’s blessing. Both deal with the call for power and control, but much much less so for the dragon-blooded dragonborns. Tiber Septim was both (born dragon souled, later earned the blessing of Akatosh by becoming emperor I would think? I’m not deep on Imperial lore)

Dragonborn (Skyrim) - dragon souled, basically a dragon shoved in a human body, randomly born with it, not heritable

Ledan is basically just like Lady -- LAY-dan. Although LEH-dan is fine too, I just find that harder to say :D While rooted in other languages we should consider Ledan an English-language word and pronounce it the way that would make sense to an English-speaker. I mean of course it's not exclusive to English, but I don't want people to get stuck in the idea that it's not a contemporary word.

Caez I go back and forth on because it depends on how you say Caesar (or the local variant). If we're going western European, which is where the story in which it originates is set, it would be Keys (Kaiser, Askazer). But it could also be Seize via Russia (Tsar) or how we generally say Caesar in English, with the sibilant C.

I've been saying it "Kay-ezz" in my head, because there's no reason we have to confine ourselves to tradition just because we're starting there :D

I think calling the Babylonian Fig Seller "Ea-Nasir" is a) an insult to our sweet, beloved fig seller who's done nothing wrong in his entire life and b) historically inaccurate because Paul and Drumbot's Babylon is about three hundred years BEFORE the complaint tablet to Ea-Nasir is supposed to have been written! (I realize this means it's also inaccurate to call the place they went to Babylon, because Babylonia was only a thing from 1850 BCE on, but that's a mistake the show made, so we're stuck with it.

🤔 does this mean in the AU that is Bandroid, with aliens and robots and time travel, Babylon became a major power two hundred years early? That would be cool and also probably have a lot of implications for world history that I'm not prepared to address as a person who did not study history.)

My useless counter-opinion is that's what you get for mixing capitalization, it's XD or nothing
