Just because you've conquered the Red Death and saved your village, gained the respect of your Dad and maybe the interest of the town's most good-looking girl, just because you gained a friend who loves and trust you... it didn't mean life was perfect.
Hiccup still needed time to himself, a moment to reflect and cope with the new life that a happy ending lent him. More responsibilities were expected of him, and higher expectations. He didn't always live up to them, even now. He was still the same kid who fumbled, said the wrong things, and kept to himself. But he did have more respect and he appreciated that much.
He sneaked away late one night, to the docks where the ships came in. It was a cool evening, the moon was just coming off from the horizon, and he thought he saw a figure moving nearby. Or was it his imagination?
