“Change the way you look at things and the things you look at will change.” (Wayne Dyer) - Faced with many hardships growing up, despite being only 14 years of age, William Morton, declared by many of his neighbors to be “The Demon Child”, has always lacked self-confidence and is a coward at heart, which resulted in him forming imaginary friends to cope with his own insecurities and personal struggles. One such “friend” is Pops, a talking rat 🐀 (don’t ask! Haha). When his little, furry friend runs away, Will chases after him, knowing there’s an unhinged killer on the loose in the 2018 released Survival-Horror/Puzzle-solving video game, “The Hanged Man” (Windows). 😁😈 As the 4th and final chapter of “The Strange Man” series (at least in the Canon storyline), #TheHangedMan is, without question, the most under-appreciated installment in the series, which as a whole yours truly absolutely LOVED! 😄👌🏻 Like its’ predecessors, the game can be very scary and disturbing in parts, while also being hilariously fun and comical, especially in an unforgettable moment when Will & Sophie Grundler (great to have her back!) got so spooked at the thought of there being “ghosts”, they ran like crazy crying for Keith Baring (AWESOME to have him back too, oh yeah!!!) to protect them and his “Seriously?!” expression was priceless! 😂👏🏻 Will’s character growth and journey was as heartfelt and emotional as David Hoover’s, Sophie Grundler’s, and Keith Baring’s, and the fact that he learns to grow and to be the brave, strong man he was capable of being was so inspiring! “A candy colored clown they call ‘The Sandman’ tiptoes into my room every night, just to sprinkle stardust and whisper.....’Go to sleep, everything is alright.’” (Roy Orbison) - That would normally be the case, but when the frustrated Sandman is deprived of his peaceful slumber, everyone in the whole world are put to sleep for all eternity, leaving the equally sleepless Sophie Grundler to stop #FatherTime himself in the 2018 released Survival-Horror/Puzzle-solving video game, “The Sandman” (Windows). 😄 Standing behind only the game that’s to succeed it, “The Boogie Man” (2018), as my favorite in “The Strange Man” series, #TheSandMan was an absolutely fun, whimsical, oddly creepy, and unsurprisingly so, heartwarming video game I absolutely LOVED, especially experiencing the 2nd Chapter in the series unfold through the eyes of Sophie Grundler. 😍❤️ Due to her father being too busy with work after the tragic loss of his wife, Sophie’s beloved mother, Sophie Grundler has lived a very lonely life, which combined with her father being distant from his precious daughter, is unable to sleep peacefully. As a man whose lived through 28 years of his life, and having suffered through anorexia (which nearly killed yours truly), nothing hurts more than to see another human being deprived of their sleep, just as Sophie Grundler was deprived of hers. 😔 That kind of emotion being provoked out of yours truly is one of the many reasons why I LOVE #TheStrangeMan series! It’s the essence of any good thriller that, for a little while, you believe in the boogeyman.” (John Carpenter) - Fear is what would befall Keith & Helena Baring, a once happy couple who’ve suffered great loss, and the rest of their tourist buddies, as they enter a castle far in the countryside that carries a dark history and a “monster” in the 2018 released Survival-Horror/Puzzle-solving video game, “The Boogie Man” (Windows). 😃👹 Being the 3rd Chapter in a series of tales, which when combined is referred to as “The Strange Man” series, the 2nd Chapter (The Sandman) I’ve not played, mind you......but fear not, for I will, believe it!!! 😁 Like its’ predecessor, “The Crooked Man” (2018), the game while having strong elements of horror, suspense, and insane thrills (oh they are! Haha), its’ true strength lies in the heart and soul of the tale told. That tale being the fractured bond of Keith & Helena Baring, the former of who we experience the horror unfold through his point-of-view. They’ve suffered such a tragic loss, which caused Keith to become very neglectful to Helena whose not as strong as her husband is, and so she clings to him in her times of need. The guilt of doing so pains her, but what Helena doesn’t realize is that Keith isn’t as “strong” as she thinks he is. He too is in great pain but cannot seem to show it. His greatest balance, his last form of hope, his remaining sense of happiness.....is Helena, his beloved wife.
