There are lots of kinds of silly. One of my favourites, when it comes to kid's books, is the straight-faced kind that winks while pretending seriousness, and makes kids feel in on the joke. And I absolutely LOVE "The Skunk" (2015) by the brilliant combo of Mac Barnett and Patrick McDonnell because it does exactly that. 📚📙📗 From the very first page, we get dragged into the mysterious, ridiculous game of a man being...tailed? By a skunk. Into an opera house. And it just gets sillier from there!
