Spring at the Silo
Late post!
During my trip to Texas, my parents, who are big Fixer Upper fans, wanted to take me to Waco, TX.
Joanna Gaines was hosting “Spring at the Silo” at her Magnolia store at the Silo in Waco.
From San Antonio, it was about a 2 1/2 hour drive. We tried some cupcakes at the Silo Bakery, and went a bit crazy.
Overall “The Silo” seems like a nice place to hangout, but because of the whole event it was just so overcrowded. Just to go into the store we had to wait in a line that wrapped around the whole venue. The baked goods were over-hyped and we probably didn’t need to order so much, but since I’m probably not going there anytime soon, and my family didn’t get to try it last time they went, now we can say we tried it and were over it haha.
I did get a souvenir cup, a tote bag, and a long sleeve tshirt though! If you’re in Texas its definitely a town to check out!

The opening launched with a group show titled "Stellar", showcasing heavyweights such as Andile Dyalvane (@andiledyalvane) from South Africa, Cheick Diallo (@cheick26) from Mali and Hamed Ouattara (@studiohamedouattara) from Burkina Faso. My only disappointments on the night were the lack of @atangtshikare, who gave hints of upcoming work which I am excited about; @tony_gum, whom I managed to snap a selfie with & Hamed Ouattara, whose work was not on the floor for display.
