In a very roundabout way, your blog name inspired your lo-fi graphic! Somehow, the mushroom cloud morphed into a mushroom, and then I thought of a little fae Brian May out in the woods at night gathering materials to make a wee Red Special. He’s got a red-speckled mushroom cap and a pine twig -- he’s on his way! Who couldn’t use a wee fae Brian May in their life?

Wichita Lineman, by Glen Campbell. A little old skool country for you, from 1968. Such a pretty song! These lines kill me:

I wanted to rec some nerd tunes, but I was thinking that you’ve probably already heard the same ones I have (They Might Be Giants immediately leapt to mind...), so, totally out of left field, from my 1960s time travel playlist even though it’s from 1972, evidently.

I Been Born Again, by Flo & Eddie, the original founding members of the Turtles. My two Turtles faves are Happy Together (1967), and You Showed Me (1968). The Lightning Seeds did a nice cover of You Showed Me, 1996.
