#myweekinpictures Friday 30th October 2020 @pippabaileyauthor and I were kindly invited by friends for an evening of horror-quiz shenanigans at the digital #abatoire horror Festival - truthfully I had one cider more than I should have. Happy anniversary to our wonderful family @NelsonWPyles and @deb.pyles ❤️ Me wonderful Mam @pipsminimum sent us these awesomely spooky squishmallows ❤️ We watched a buttload of horror movies, a few stand out favourites being #theselling a hilarious horror comedy that uses boatloads of clever writing to lampoon genre tropes and turn them on their head. Also #boysinthetrees it's a slow burn about childhood friendship, retaining joy as an adult, and overcoming toxic masculinity set on the background of a Halloween night in Australia. It super caught us off guard. I read #BecomingSupermanJMS and have been utterly changed by the experience. If you also find that you are red blooded, creative, and aspire to be a better human I can't recommend it enough. We have also hit 27 movies in our Halloween marathon (I'll post the full run in a few days) and are looking forward to seeing what tomorrow's @shudder Halloween extravaganza brings.
