"Would you stop yelling at me already?"
❝ I am not yelling! ❞
O N C E the shrill tone echoed in her ears, she realized she was. Addison couldn’t help herself. He was making her nervous, and she didn’t like it. This wasn’t some game they were playing anymore. He wasn’t looking out for himself like she wished he would. She sighed, feeling her shoulders slump.
❝ I’m sorry. It’s just… Alex, you need to be more careful! ❞
T H E R E it was. The fear. Fear that he’d get just a little too careless one day and wind up in serious trouble, or worse. She loved him fiercely and deeply. If he’d done something stupid and gotten injured, she’d never forgive herself. She was worried she’d never forgive him, either. She knew how good she had it with him. Addison wasn’t ever going to let go of it.
❝ I love you, alright? I want the chance to love you five years from now. ❞
