So I'm running the Brooklyn Half Marathon this year, and thought it'd be nice to raise some money for my favourite charity: Random Acts.

Random Acts is a non-profit organization that is aiming to conquer the world, one random act of kindness at a time. They are dedicated to funding and inspiring acts of kindness around the world. This is my second time fundraising for Random Acts (I ran 40 miles for E4K last year dressed as Ms. Marvel), and it definitely won't be my last!

Would now be a bad time to advertise my secondary blog?

No? Yes? I'm gonna do it anyway.

As I've mentioned before, I have a secondary blog here. It's called Random Acts of Nerdiness. Basically, I've challenged myself to do at least one random act of kindness per day every day this year and I post both the acts themselves there so it works as an archive but also report which acts I've done. I update on the weekends.

Miss our look back at 2014 yesterday? Make sure to head over to our blog and check out our year-end wrap up video! We've got a lot of exciting things on the horizon, but we can't forget about all the amazing things you helped us to accomplish last year either....

For example: did you know that our final E4K tally was over $57,000? Or that our current Crowdrise Giving Challenge has brought in more than $18,000, thanks to your generosity? In 2014, we were able to fund approximately $47,000 in supporter and staff kindness projects. Just think about how much we could do this year!

We're looking forward to spending more time with all of you at Creation Entertainment, Hub Productions, and Rogue Events conventions over the next 12 months as well -- and we can't wait to hear your stories. From personal anecdotes to project pitches, we're always excited to meet the people that make our mission possible.

While we plan for the future, it's important to us to always remember where we came from and the people who have helped us get to where we are today.

This month, we’re celebrating anonymous acts of kindness. They can be anything from leaving a positive message on a post-it note for someone to find to paying it forward with a cup of Joe to raking your neighbor's leaves while they're away. The possibilities are truly endless, and each and every act of kindness is sure to change someone’s day (and maybe their life) for the better.

If you need a few ideas, we hope you’ll drop by our blog. And that you’ll share any anonymous acts of kindness you see (or you do!) with us by tagging #GetKind and #theRandomAct on Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram.

Looking for an easy way to spread kindness this weekend? We hope you'll help us get the word out about the 2014 CrowdRise Giving Tower Holiday Challenge.

We'll be taking part in this friendly fundraising competition launched by craigconnects, Fred and Joanne Wilson and MacAndrews, and Forbes to promote #GivingTuesday. And we need every single kindness hero to help us spread the news about Random Acts Kindness Crusade.

Starting November 25, we will be accepting donations of any amount on our CrowdRise page. Every donation made will add another brick to the CrowdRise Giving Tower. The donations you make will go directly to the charities you support whether that’s Random Acts or one of the other charities taking part in this year’s challenge.

But that’s not all. There will be special Giving Tower challenges throughout the holidays that give each charity a chance to win prizes ranging from $10,000 to “a mess of Lucky Charms.”
