COMPETITION . . . Who doesn't want to be number one? The feeling of being called the best is like no other. You're always surrounded by a constant sense of speed, that tingling feeling behind your head when you feel someone closing in, and the grit you need to brake as late as possible, just to get that little advantage over your opponent. To be the best, you have to beat the rest. Being scared of competition gets you nowhere, but being wary, takes you places. Inspite of that brilliant pun, I myself am scared of competition. Not because I'm scared of losing, but because I'm scared of mistakes. That's where I lost many positions at @cota_official with @marcmarquez93, #valentinorossi and @26_danipedrosa. This fear keeps you from pushing your limits. Heck, it limits you from unleashing the full potential of your machine. And what's the use of having so many horses if you don't let them gallop? Personally speaking, my competition is my own skill chart. Hoping to overcome my fears one day, I try to learn what makes my opponents beat me. And I know as far as I got that in mind, I'll make it through to the end. Well, that's my competition.. The sense of SPEED . . . It has always really been about being better hasn’t it? The feeling of going fast is exhilarating only till you have someone behind. But as you realise you’re really alone out there, you slow down. Not because you’re afraid of crashing, but because you’re hesitant to let it end. The whistling of the wind in your ear, the whizzing of trees as you shoot past them at breakneck speeds, all this keeps calling you back. You tuck in behind your motorcycle’s visor, hoping to create a more aerodynamic profile. You have a big hump on the back of your race suit, all to channel the air around you. All you have to do is hold on to the throttle, and stay put. The Yamaha #yzf R3 may not look like a crotch rocket at the first glance, but as soon as you let the needle hit the redline, it’s a whole different game. The real speed limiter then becomes your own courage, the whining of the engine becomes your guiding voice, and the road becomes your platform. The motorcycle underneath you tells you how you’re doing, and as long as you understand that, you’re good. As far as I am from the real top speed of my motorcycle in this picture, hitting 173 kmph in the 5th gear, knowing you have a whole gear and few thousand rpms to spare let me know the amount of power I was dealing with. That’s when I knew, Speed is just a state of mind. It’s your readiness to go fast is what matters.
