[Mercenary Verse]
Akio always hated taking jobs in Zaun, no matter how high they paid him, they always sucked. Not because of the constant stream of terrible things that occur in the undercity, but the constant smog made it hard for the disguised half-marai to breath. Forcing him to wear a light mask around his nose and mouth, Akio even flipped his purple hood up to try and keep a low profile. At least this job didn’t seem half bad, the client already paid most of his check up-front and all he had to do was protect a certain perimeter around a small hidden building.
No further questions, nor getting inside apart from very specific people. Akio kept himself busy with a light whistle and using his thumb to slowly rotate the revolver cylinder of his gunblade. It was hard to tell time when you are inside this hole of a city, the client also gave him a fair warning to other potential high priority threats. Some of them were Warders from the Upper city, most were other Mercenaries, particularly one that was described to him as ‘Short woman with a mechanical arm, wears a red cloak.’ Not really a lot to go by, but nevertheless, Akio stood his guard as he kept walking along his designed perimeter.
“Hopefully they don’t take too long in there, at this point boredom seem to be the most dangerous thing here.” Akio mumbled to himself for a second, before returning to his light melodic whistle.
