She pauses, thinking. ". . . Its just that sometimes, you dont show that your worried, yknow? Cause you want to be a reliable kami- you want to be this mountain for people to be safe at.
Buuuut.... your not a mountain. Your a dog." She said, using her mechanical hand to boop her wifes nose. " and dogs worry about stuff too, yknow?"

"And you're a very good one for coming out here. I know you're worried about your home...and because of that, I'm worried that I've taken your time and attention away from more important things than my personal affairs. It IS very much appreciated, and I'll try not to squander our time here."
Ah, yes. The reason Noelle was so hesitant to ask for her Oba's help. She saw Oba's worries as more important than her own problems.

The kami shrugged, eyes now focused on something off in the distance - before re-focusing back on the smaller mage.
"I came here cause I wanted ta, Nori - and there isn't anything ma important fa me ta be doing than to make sure that youc an get ta ya sound safely.
Otherwise I'd be over there doing that and worrying about the stuff here, ne?"

She wanted to protest. Oba's home was more important than her, for certain.
But she meant what she said when it came to trusting Chiasa...and how much it meant to her that she came.
"Thank you, Oba. I appreciate that you're here." More than words can say.
She glances to Ariel to see if she had more to say on the matter.

Noelle smiles up at her.
"I know you will, Oba." She replied in complete honesty. "I never doubted you would be fine in that respect."
"But it does sound like this place might prey on the mind. And I know you've been troubled recently, too. While I know we'll overcome it, I'm worried about if you'll be hurt if it preys on anything weighing on your mind."
The mage had complete faith in the kami's abilities and power, but still didn't want to see her hurt, like anyone else.

Having to protect everyone. But- at least in this situation- you dont gotta worry as much about things going wrong, okay-?"

That gave her a little more pause - prey on her mind? Well, nothing new then. She's been fighting nightmares for a while. A paw squeezed Ariel's hand for both re-assurance and anchoring.
"...But we're going into a dark temple, Ari. Leaving ma house ma vulnerable fa it ta." How is she supposed to not worry about things going wrong?
Sure, they're protected in theory - wards on shrine walls, multiple overlapping proficiencies of their dungoen delves, some overpowered bounty hunter supposedly protecting them from..somewhere.
...but theory has not been holding up very well recently. Specifically, since new years. Last year.
"I'll keep ya safe. And I'll come out tha other side. ...but ta do that, I need ta worry."

There was a gentle knock against Noelleâs boot. âMiss? Are you awakeâŠ?â Graceful fingers raised the brim of her hood to reveal a woman of pale magenta complexion and dark horns. Her eyes were vivid green, unlike any human in these parts. âHow long have you been here? Did you happen to see any lizard folk go by?â
The short woman woke with a start. "Ah! Wh-what?"
She looked around and adjusted her hood before she looked up at the woman over her. "U-umm, lizardfolk? N-not since yesterday. They sometimes pass through with the caravans." She admits.
"Looking for someone in particular?"
"Dar! Dar! Gettadone in' wreckuma-"
The orangescale went rigid when he felt a blade at his throat. The crocodilian, shot an anxious glance at Noelle, staring at her with a beady, yellow eye.
"Eyy! Chatta alldey " he said nervously. "Yeah yeah, takka ya gimmins." He offered the dagger, the satchel was hanging on a tree branch beside him.
Gisha released Dar, leaving him charmed and entirely incapacitated with hallucinations. She swam over to the canoe, tail raised out of the water. "Lovely, miss Minette" she panted. It took some effort, but she managed to get the canoe turned over, then clambered into it. Rising, completely soaked, she paddled the boat over to the tree and knabbed her satchel. "Now. Scrabbet" she hissed.
Scrabbet closed his eyes tight and tried to make himself closer to the tree. "Neveseen mind twinklies, neva gonna donna" he said with false stoicism.
Gisha huffed, pushing her swamp-soaked hair out of her eyes and glaring at the lizardkin. "Charm you? I ought to gut you" she spat, then looked at Noelle. "Got any rope?"
Noelle continued to hold her knife to the lizardman.
"Yeah, it's in my bag on the back side of it." She replies, not willing to release this one just yet. He was likely stronger than her, and Dar was doubly-so. She wasn't sure they could keep control of the situation without the current arrangement.
Gisha hastily grabbed the rope. âIâll buy you a new oneâŠâ she huffed, moving up to the tree and quickly lashing the orangescale to the trunk. He shook nervously. âNow listen hereâŠâ Gisha said, immediately and seamlessly dropping her scorn. She was suddenly very peaceful. Her soothing aura came out in force, lavishing the lizard man with happiness and serenity. Gisha actually smiled kindly. âYouâre a good friend⊠you wonât leave Dar will you? In a short while he will need you, wonât he?â
Scrabbet nodded lazily, his eyes blinked slowly, out of sync. âGood boyâ she cooed. âYouâll not follow us, will you? Not after Dar explains what heâs dreaming about.â Gisha gave him a pet on the snout, the motioned Noelle into the canoe. âLetâs get the hells out of hereâ she whispered.
Noelle, a bit confused as to what just happened eased away from the now-thuroughly cowed orangescale and hopped back into the righted canoe.
She grabbed an oar and nodded to Gisha as she began to paddle the vessel away....hopefully back towards town, but any distance between them and these ruffians seemed a smart move.
After a few minutes of paddling in silence, she speaks up. "I...uhh...hope they had all your things." She says, offering a bit of an uncertain smile.
Gisha assisted in the paddling, equally thrilled to be putting distance behind them. âTheyâre part of a circle of traders⊠traders, theyâre probably a circle of thieves. I donât want to invite their ire. Otherwise I might have slain the bastards.â
Her paddling slowed after a time. Between the fog and the featureless swamp, it was difficult to tell where they were and what direction they were going. But eventually, they came upon a solid land. Little more than a sand bank with a thin strip of trees and brush, Gisha steered aground, then hastily walked onto the grassy rise and scoured her pack. âSleeping roll is gone. They ate some of my food. Spare socks are wet. Fire starter is wet⊠ohâ she pulled out a coping purse. It had the same heft that it had the last time she held it. âBut they werenât smart enough to keep this, at least.â She turned to Noelle, her tail swaying.
âYou⊠put yourself in danger to help me. Thank you. Iâll be sure to reward you whenever we find town.â
"I'm just glad you reclaimed what was yours." Noelle replied. "Well, besides the sleeping roll and rations."
Mercifully such things were recoverable.
"It seems strange for theives to be plying their trade in a place they seem unfamiliar." She comments. "But the environment certainly suits them." She says as she hops out of the canoe and onto the sand to take a look around.
It seemed difficult to see anything through the fog and foliage. Perhaps if she got higher up...but that didn't seem likely in this weather. Still, it seemed as good a plan as any.
"I'll see if I can spot anything from higher up." She says as she begins to attempt climbing one of the trees.

There was a gentle knock against Noelleâs boot. âMiss? Are you awakeâŠ?â Graceful fingers raised the brim of her hood to reveal a woman of pale magenta complexion and dark horns. Her eyes were vivid green, unlike any human in these parts. âHow long have you been here? Did you happen to see any lizard folk go by?â
The short woman woke with a start. "Ah! Wh-what?"
She looked around and adjusted her hood before she looked up at the woman over her. "U-umm, lizardfolk? N-not since yesterday. They sometimes pass through with the caravans." She admits.
"Looking for someone in particular?"
Gishaâs nose twitched. She slowly turned to a canoe drawn upon the docks. There was no one around to miss it. The idea brewed in her mind for a moment. âOn the one handâŠâ she said very quietly. âWeâre not from here, and inviting criminal charges might not be in our best interestâŠâ
She turned her eyes back to the swamp. âBut on the other hand, they have my things. And theyâre tremendously vileâŠâ
She licked her lips, then started moving towards the unguarded canoe. âDo you have any experience with a paddle?â
"A-A little bit." Noelle replies as she scurries to catch up. "I sometimes can paddle out when I fish. It's a nice change of pace from the shore."
Picking up on what Gisha was talking about, she glanced around a little before she takes the oars from the shore, tossing them into the canoe before she begins to untie the rope mooring the vessel to the dock, motioning with her head for the other to get in before she follows suit. She then seats herself with the oars, quietly pulling the duo out into the misty bog.
The succubus mounted up within the canoe and took the other oar. She knew enough about canoeing to paddle them in a straight line, leaving the rest to coordination. As they slipped away, she checked over her shoulder to make sure no one was running after them. âWeâll try to return it the way we found itâ she whispered, then motioned for Miss Minette to paddle quietly. Together they glided quietly, listening for the voices.
For a time, they heard nothing except the sounds of the swamp. Just insects and the gentle lapping of the water. Occasionally a bird or some distant creature made a call, but Gisha could find evidence of her assailants in the trees around them.
Gisha raised a hand, silently signaling to cease paddling. She peered around them, seeing only fog and mangroves in all directions. This wasnât right. Had they been led astray? Her tail flicked with agitation as she listened to the swamp.
Noelle paddles silently in time with Gisha, stopping when bidden. She looks around and listens for any telltale sound of their quarry....or where they even are. The mangrove maze was all feeling a bit similar in every direction.
She glances at her associate, wondering if she had a better idea of their situation than she did.
Gisha had no idea of their situation. Admittedly, she was suddenly concerned that this charitable individual might have been dragged into harms way by her spontaneous actions. She looked over her shoulder, trying to determine the route back to Dorn, but the swamp offered no landmarks.
âDâwell looka here-â Gisha jumped at the sudden voice, but couldnât react in time to save the canoe. The boat was tipped with great strength, dunking the two women into the water⊠which was too deep to wade.
âHeew tâere demon wench tâgew to given a chaseâ laughed the orangescale. The reptilian coiled out of the water and halfway up a mangrove with ease. He was a beanstalk of his kin, tall but lanky, dressed in oiled leather rogue garb. His crocodilian snout was full of crooked teeth and he was wearing something shining and golden around his neck.
âYou stole from me- thatâs my medallion!â Gisha snarled as she bobbed on the surface, struggling to get back to the overturned canoe.
âDar! Dâeredat? Demon wench âereta possy em glimmerdads!â He laughed boisterously. Then the hornscale slithered through the water behind Noelle, making a circle of the scene. He rose out of the water. Much larger than the orangescale, he was built like a tank and had horned protuberances on his back and shoulders. He answered in an accent so thick it couldnât be discerned, but he motioned at Noelle.
âBack off Darâ Gisha hissed, clutching the canoe. âIâm here- for my thingsâ
âOoh, tâdat gon be a troubledad olâ wreckin, bess- mighty grat olâ copperdid for skivs and shinies!â He pulled out her obsidian dagger and made a theatening gesture. âkinem high, Dar!â
Dar thrust back into the water, his wake driving right for them.
Noelle tried to stay under for a bit to remain unnoticed, but gulped when she realized she'd been made.
When he dove in, the short woman seemed to be easy pickings.
Almost too easy. But it was unlikely the reptile would notice the illusion unless he was looking for it. As Dar swam for the panicking illusion, the woman swam towards the orangescale, hoping he'd be enjoying the position of power he had to notice the small shadow slipping towards his legs.
She was close. Just a little further and she could get her knife on him.
Dar snaked deftly through the murky water, zeroing in on the mousy woman with ease. Something glinted in his hand and he brought it to bear on the woman, targeting not the neck or a vital artery, but her midsection. Clearly he intended to bleed her, not kill her. His teeth lashed hard at her arm... and that's when he discovered something wasn't quite right. For a moment, the large lizardkin twirled about in the water, looking around, before he thrust upwards. He bellowed in a deep, indiscernable creole, so deviated from the common tongue that only his companion seemed to understand.
"Waydo eh shimmerin' dis'ere water'ole? Flippn'-? Neh ghosties, facer!" The orangescale had not yet noticed Noelle. "Dar... eh Dar?"
Dar was behaving strangely. He was glancing around, arms partially raised, flailing somewhat in the water. He dipped below the water... then rose again, frantic. His eyes were suddenly wild and he was gasping for breath. Gisha emerged from the water, holding onto his arm, trying to stay above water, but Dar hardly seemed to notice. He was thrashing for his life now, growing more and more wild.
With the ample distraction, Noelle leapt upon the orangescale, knife in hand held to his throat while she clung to him.
"Let's talk. And don't be stupid about this." She hisses into his earhole. "You know what we want...is it worth this?"
The angel picks up the knife they dropped and sets it aside before they hear a clatter from the other room.
They go to find Kachi has knocked over a book shelf.
They proceed to clean it up, while pondering how to entertain the child. Perhaps a toy or game...or maybe a play mate?

She lets noelle lead, scince she was more familiar with this world. But she made sure to keep by her wifes side- leaning on her slightly to try to be more comforting.

Noelle's prior visit to Kakariko felt like it was from another era. But even so, it wasn't too difficult to find a quieter spot. Away from the research on the peculiar ruins and the forewarned fenced-in trees, she guides them to a small forested patch that overlooks the town.
Noelle takes a seat next to a small stream that fed into the small river that runs through the town, offering a spot for the other two while they check in on Oba.
"You seem a bit on edge, Oba. Are you alright?" Noelle offers, trying to broach the subject.

Chiasa knew what this was about - the walk was nice, in a town with the sight, sounds and smells that felt like walking through a memory; but the immediate pivot to a quiet place made their intentions kind of obvious.
"I'm okay, Nori." The kami replied, gently patting Ariel's grip on her. It did help that she knew where this was going - makes answering theri concerns easier.
"Just checking tha cameras- or tha...diviner?" She still doesn't know if Noelle has an equivelant to security cameras.
"Keeping an eye on stuff goin' on at home." The cough that himiko hacked before recovering herself. The clattering of a knife an angel dropped. Kachi knocking down libarary shelves because he thought he saw something behind it.
"Dontchya worry- If anythin' bad happens, I'll be on like sun wukong!~"
