DAY 7 PRAISE DECLARATION:
THE PERSISTENCE OF CLAPPING
PRAISE INSPIRATION:
1 Oh, CLAP your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice (or sound) of triumph! 2 For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth. 3 He will subdue the peoples under us, and the nations under our feet.- Psalm 47:8-11 (ESV)
PRAISE REVELATION:
We make sounds every day. Some sounds bring joy and others bring sorrow. When we praise the Lord it’s a pleasing sound to God’s ears, unlike the noise heard from the complaining Israelites who wandered for 40 years in the wilderness. The Psalmist David encourages us to make a joyful sound as we praise the Lord. We can even make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Whether we have the gift of music or sing with a melodious voice, or you sing to God in private, because of sudden joy you feel, we all benefit from praising the Lord. How we praise the Lord shows how we value our God, and how often we worship Him reveals how much we desire and adore Him. Is there any value in CLAPPING our hands when we praise God? Why does Psalm 47:1 command us to clap our hands? If we examine the first verse more closely, we will see a connection to the sound of our clapping and the sound of triumph. When David talks about the voice of triumph, the Hebrew word for “voice” is actually “kol” כל, but can also be translated as “sound.” So when the enemy heard clapping, they were hearing the sound and proclamation of triumph and victory. Could this be what the enemy hears when we praise the Lord and clap our hands. Maybe it reminds him of the sound of a triumphant army and their horses galloping and trodding in hot pursuit to win a battle. Either way, this sound of victory confuses our opponent. The Hebrew word for clapping “taka” תקע is also is used for the sound of the shofar, called “tekiah” תקיעה, creating a long blast. When we clap our hands, we are letting the adversary of our souls know that we have already defeated him, and he is under our feet. David ends this verse with those very thoughts that God will subdue His enemies and place them under His feet. So next time you want to make the enemy flee, as you praise the Lord, start clapping your hands with consistency and persistence! Don’t stop until you sense the victory has come! Remember, there is a persistence in your clapping and power in your praise!!!
PRAISE DECLARATIONS:
1. We declare a triumphant victory over sickness, disease, and death, as we praise our God for the promises of healing, wholeness and health.
2. We declare that our God is awesome and He has never lost a battle, and we praise Him for the protection of our family and our friends.
3. We declare that this seventh day of praise will create a persistence in us to never lose focus on who is in control as we trust God in every area of our life.
